Thats damn heavy weight, look at those leg extensions!
No doubt this man built his huge quads the Coleman way. Hard and heavy.
-
Even Woody allen could do that
-
I dont know if he trains soft there.
If he trains like this every time, I am really disappointed at him. :-\

It looks like those weights are heavy for him. Even Milos' wife can lift those ;D

Nah. I am not talking about weight. Just he dont train to his maximum.
If weight is light, i want him to do squeeaing very hard at the top of movement and a lots of reps to the failure.
And he didnt do it. Just look like he was training just for pump.

Wolf is two weeks from the Olympia
he is training smart

Oh I forgot about it.
Thats true.

Exactly; at this point it's not about setting any weight records.
Besides he mentioned in a recent interview that he is much more careful since his umbilical hernia thing.
-
Obviously he is working up to heavier weights at the end of the workout. Finishing with heavy squats but still light enough to keep 10+ reps. Smart.
-
Oh I forgot about it.
Thats true.
How could a schmoe such as yourself forget about the biggest thong fest in BB Kyomu ?

Not interesting, as Paco doesn't participate in it.

No. we are quite interested in O this time.
Cuz, this olympia is open wide for sevarl guys.
We are discusing about it every day in lunch time.
Paco says if Martinez is On, he will take it.
I say Kai.
But, we think also if Jay bring his best condition, he can bring it again.

EXACTY - HE IS PROBABLY ON MINIMAL CARBS AND IS DRAINED
-
brutal squats.
-
Going lower would damage his knees. ::)
-
I'm quite sure he trains like this all the time. I've just about had it with the hard training bullshit. I won't push it that far to say that the biggest guys I've seen were always and without exception the least intense trainers but they certainly werent the most intense trainers a lot of times. Vice versa I've seen a lot of guys pushing it hard each and every workout and not getting anywhere at all.
Does this imply that sissy training is a necessity for getting huge? No. But the opposite is certainly not true either based on my (relatively limited that I admit) observation.
-
that's the best kind of proof; anecdotal

Sometime I thought it like you.
But, Dorian,Branch,Markus and Paco are those hard trainees as long as i know.
-
it's a widely believed fact

I did not say the above in absolute terms. I left room for the big guys that actually do train hard (as the guys you mentioned do). However I think we can agree that it is far from a NECESSITY since there are so many big guys that train without any intensity at all

Intensity is overrated. It's all about the volume. ;)

I would just say that everybody has to listen to his body, but training smart trumps training hard.
Like you said before, I also know many guys that destroy themselves in the gym each and every workout to the extent that they are barely able to walk outside, and still get no results. My theory is when you overdo it, you tear the muscle even more down than you can rebuild with proper rest and protein afterwards.
Generally I'd say that most people with average genetics would probably do better without muscle failure at all, just that you can get the last positive rep completely yourself and that's it. But sometimes your ego dictates you to push the limits, and you again do things altough you know they won't help you. :D
-
He's training smart just like he does offseason... having an ego in the gym and feeling the need to outlift everyone is how injuries happen.
-
Too bad I can't view MD's new video format and yes, I do have the latest Flash version :(
-
It does get a little old to hear from all theses pros how you have to use perfect form then you see a Branch or a Jay vid and its horrendous. Maybe not Jay as much. Also you hear how you have to be SO intense and you watch that Wolf vid and its like ok. I dont really see anything from any of these guys that blows me away to where I would say, oh I couldnt train with him! Obviously they are stronger but not much else
-
Wolf never claimed to be an intense trainer, he's smart about it. If you want to be in it for the long haul then playing it safe is what needs to be done. Their entire livelyhood is based off of one show a year (for some of them) how would training like a maniac and tearing a muscle effect them? It would completely fuck some of these guys. Branch has multiple tears and a physique that looks like playdough put through a meat grinder, Dorian had multiple tears towards the end of his career, Coleman had tears and supposed nerve damage.
Being two weeks out from the Olympia and training like this is the smart way to do it. Yea, Coleman deadlifted 800lbs 2 weeks out, but Coleman is a freak of nature and isn't from this planet.
-
i read in a magazine in 2006 or 2007 that he fucked up his knee really bad. so thats why he trains like a bitch now.
bench
-
2 weeks out from the Olympia he's training smart. he's probably running on low carbs as well
-
Well Kai can stop worrying about him. Won't have enough density to be a top 5 threat this year.
-
wolf wil win...

Uhm you don't have to train to failure to get big and strong. In fact going to failure each time you train is bad for most people as it puts to much strain on your body.
-
Some guys do get much better results when training lighter. I used to have a training partner who never made gains when we went heavy but always put on size when we backed off of the weight. It's all relative.
-
Even Kyomu squats deeper than Wolf.
Yes but Paco is between his legs laying on the floor with a stiffy...haha sorry Kyomu. :D
-
wow!
The Huge Aryan Bastard makes that weight look easy! :o

Are you saying Coleman didn't take a risk? ::)

Coleman was 5 weeks out. And ended up with a torn up physique in the long run.
