Title: Obama presides over a Historic (& Unanimous) UN Vote over Nuclear Disarmament
Post by: 240 is Back on September 24, 2009, 10:31:32 AM

With U.S. President Barack Obama presiding over an historic session, the U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a U.S.-drafted resolution Thursday aimed at ridding the world of nuclear weapons.

Russia, China and developing nations supported the U.S.-sponsored measure, giving it global clout and strong political backing.

The resolution calls for stepped up efforts to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons, promote disarmament and "reduce the risk of nuclear terrorism."

It was only the fifth time the Security Council met at summit level since the U.N. was founded in 1945. And Obama was the first American president to preside over a Security Council summit, gaveling the meeting into session and announcing that "the draft resolution has been adopted unanimously."

So what? The UN is completely impotent, irrelevent organization. Who is going to enforce it? When a country doesn't abide will they pass resolution and after resolution with harsher language each time?

Whoever the speaker is at the time will chastise said country, telling them it's bad and then turn around and invite them to the next meeting and give them a podium to talk about whatever they want. The UN might be the most useless organization on the planet.

Then why does Dear Leader give it all this credence and push us to adopt its insane wishes?

The UN is only as powerful as the nations allow it to be.  In the past the UN has been an impotent waste of space and has become league of nations part duex.

Ha ha, maybe because he wants to be president of the world and agrees with all these freaks up on the podium including his father Gadaffi, Mamchmud, et al?

His problem is he buys the bullshit, if you haven't noticed the POTUS loves people fawning all over him. Once he gets in a setting with a like minded crowd he starts going of message ( stops reading the TOTUS) and starts saying what he really thinks. Its almost amusing to watch, his vocabulary changes, his voice gets a littel higher.

Billy - I had a business meeting this morning with 25 business people and a bunch came up to me asking how I knew things were going to get to this pioint.  They were like "how did you know all of this?"

I only gave them the number to my buddy who owns a gun store and told them to stock up since those dollars spent on firearms wont lose their value in the long run.

There is nothing, other than Dear Leader declaring allegiance tot he nation and constitution, that would surprise me at this point.

In fact, I am more ready to believe that The One would declare allegiance to the Communist Manifesto & Rules for Radicals than he would the Constitution.

Even his wife in that new book said he has a massive ego problem.

Billy take a deep breath.  The details haven't been hammered out but i can tell you know the nukes will still be around.  More than enough to blow up the world a few times over.  Same with russia, china etc.  All this is, is a way of saying 'hey we have nukes yes but we are scaling back so you can't say you need them' to countries like iran etc.  It takes that excuse off the table.

The nuclear non-proliferation ship sailed a long time ago. This is more bullshit and sunshine. The Russians hate the fact that we still have a viable nuclear capable sub fleet while their crap sinks. This isn't about just nukes, its about platforms....its about mothballing subs and delaying, stopping or otherwise mothballing our strategic air arms. We need a new deep strike bomber...Barry is blocking it....thats the crap the Russians love. Meanwhile the Chicoms are building everything in sight.

Haha come on dude, you don't think they're not building more nukes still do you? It's about like you say retiring old technology and i have no doubt bringing in new technology.  The days of the soviet parades are over, there isn't a need to tell everyone you have 1000 nukes people know so lets get rid of this old sh*t together and be done with it.

Only you could take a good thing and try to spin it as if everyone is doing the opposite.
