That definitely looks like a tear.  Really a shame, at his peak he was REALLY awesome.  I remember seeing him at some show, forget which one...when he hit an ab shot, the crowd, all together and at once, literally gasped.

a recent tear (or nerve damage) seems to be his inner gastrocnemius(calve)

He used to have diamond shaped calves like Jay.

I noticed that. He worked out at my gym, Powerhouse, in West palm Beach for many years..and his calves always looked amazing. Something strange has happened to them, doesn't even look like the same calves.
