815 - when the pressure really was on. That is impressive. I think it is PR territory for JOJ. either a New PR or close.

???
I speak for Stavios when I say I would probably not fail at 537, and Ben is claiming to be the strongest pro bodybuilder? ???

Alright, Ben had a good bench no doubt, but that deadlift is inexcusable unless he had a broken leg or something. :-X :-X :-X

exactly !!
I dead near 600 myself and I am a tiny tit ???
-
They had some kind of bench shirts on even though I think it was supposed to be unequipped competition, what bullshit. Bench numbers are so inflated because of shirts they have to wear them or they look like sissies.
-
he had his 15min of fame
Yep.
Ben talked the talk, but couldn't walk the walk.
Good for JOJ. 8)
-
didn't know a 630 pound deadlift was weak... I don't think its pathetic for a guy his size at all.

Either the strongest pro bodybuilders aren't as strong as we thought or Ben White was just talking out of his ass. I'm not saying that wasn't a good lift, but if I am within 100 or so pounds from a bodybuilder who claims to be the strongest, it makes me rethink my notion of how strong these guys are. Great bench for sure though.

yeah and how much "assisting gear" did you have on
lifts dont mean shit unless they are completely raw

I can deadlift 500+ with only a belt and chalk and it's possible I could do it without either.

Actually the deadlift is kind of weird that way. I'm not saying you won't gain plenty when using steroids. but probably less than the two other lifts because the deadlift is grip dependent. and the smaller and/or leaner guy also get better angles.

link to pics/video of strongman event?

I have a friend who is my height but with longer arms and his deadlift is stronger than mine. I mainly attribute that to his lower range of motion and starting position.

My intuition tells me that too, but not because of grip.
