Title: Did morality win at the Olympia?
Post by: nycbull on September 27, 2009, 09:43:37 PM
So the two top guys, are in committed relationships, have legit jobs, dont do porn, g4p or deal drugs. dont go out partying on rec drugs...  not womanizers, or women beaters. dont steal, lie or fuck over friends....Looks like bb has taken the high road, finally. Could this be the change we have all been waiting for?

no, its still mass over everything else

then Vic should have won, and Markus would be in the top 10 at least  ;)

Pattern I see is mass and conditioning. Dexter's placing seems arbitrarily out of whack, I really can't explain how he got 3rd place. But other than that the judging seems pretty consistent.

You don't know what's going in their personal life. Plus the vids of Branch acting like a total douche prove you wrong. The vids in question---him and his partner not waiting till a guy was finished with his set go and take the bar and weights from him---because they can. And him throwing weights around. Yep moral high ground my ass. Jay came in the best shape of his life and he was rewarded for it

LOL! morality and bodybuilding! the 'sport' has more convicts and dealers than anything else out there.

It's a physique pageant, not a goody-two-shoes contest.

who's morality?  well I think history can make a good case that a life of nacissism, hedonism, sloth and infidelity lead to a lot of unhappiness and destruction. I am not afraid to draw the line here. It is the morality of sane, disiplined, unselfish, faithful and productive people.  Is that Jay and Branch?...I dont know, just posing the question. Are they ever immoral, yes they are human, it comes down to the classic scale of justice.  Which side does the scale tip to?

I dont think they won due to race. In fact I think these days if you are white it is harder to succeed in sports, because the white American male hates his own kind and rather see black athletes succeed. Their own self hatred brought on by buying into feminist bullshit the last 40 yrs makes them want to see other white males fail. You guys dont stick together anymore. (straight guys that is.)

narcissism=  love of self, love of ego, etc....

hedonism= do what makes you happyest, all things considered...

sloth= to be free of concern, worry, stress

those three words all represent charcter traits whih are not necessarily negative traits, in fact they can be quite positive. because of the belief system that is pushed upon people, these words now carry with them a negative connotation, even though the actual traits the words describe arent negative things. in fact they can be admirable at times.

infidelity in of itself represents a negative action, a distrust of a bond. you canot use that in the way you did, its an unfair comparison. its like saying to lie is bad because lying is bad. or somehting along those lines.

sane, disciplined, and unselfish are all words which carry a positive vibe to them in todays culture. however, they could in fact represent negative actions, for example a disciplined person who doesnt think outside of their discipline (aka not having a mind of your own). etc.

morality is relative from planet to planet, continent to continent, country to coutnry, state to state, city to city, block to blcok, and person to person.   for one person it may be moral to give a bum on the street the change from their pocket (giving to the needy), to another person it may be moral to tel the bum to get off the street quit begging and get a job (dsregarding fears of confrontation and giving constructive critism)... get it?

Have you ever looked at the judges?
You think they judge based on "morality"?
BTW: Who defines morality? It's a very relative term.

hahaha, well that doesnt mean that we stop struggling to define it. To think it is all relative is very easy, and the easy way never wins.

In the IFBB, It all comes from the top down in the form of corporate culture, not conspiracy..So maybe the guy at the top mandated his decision by way of corporate culture and it came to pass.  We dont know what was going on in his/her head but could be they thought the work ethic that Jay and Branch bring on was worth rewarding.

I do but I think it is immoral to think that relativity gives people a free pass to do whatever they feel whenever they want with no responsibilty of consequence. I am not afraid to draw a line in the sand. If you dont define it for yourself, whatever words you choose, you won't know if you have it or lost it...How will you ever know?

btw by hedonism, i meant excessiveness, more than ones share...by sloth I meant laziness, detachment, by narcissim, well that is what I meant...There is nothing good about it...When, not if, you meet a narcissist you will know exactly what I mean...there are lots out there.  :D

yep. BB has decided to throw out the silly criteria like proportion, symmetry and aesthetics and replaced it with your list.

any librarian could now be Mr.O.

The most ethic or moral thing is to let the best guy win.
That's how I define morality.
