If you can be bothered reading. Basically the qualification after seven years of high school. Usually taken in 3-4 subjects. Graded A-F then a U which means ungraded cos so shit. Though I think they are introducing a higher A* mark. Entry to medicine or law usually takes about 3 As.

no highschool diploma is the equivalent of O-levels. A-levels is the equivalent of taking AP courses in the US, is the closest analogy I can think of.

The systems work differently, hence the confusion. In the USA/canada highschool is till the 12th grade. Students can apply to universities directly after that. AP courses can be taken in the 11th and 12th grades (I might be mistaken about 11th grade) that can count for college course equivalence depending on how you score. In the british system, O-level exams are taken in the 11th grade.. If you aspire to go to uni you take 'Advanced level' (A-level) courses before you can apply to universities.

Post by: just_a_pilgrim on September 29, 2009, 06:18:48 PM: I did a marketing degree out of school, worked in different sales jobs working up from telemarking to sales manager and then basically had an opportunity and contacts to do things myself so started my own business and work casual in a call centre. Massive market, 2 years on have decent sales but still need to get the product just a bit better but totally believe i can kill it in the near future. Hard work early paid off with contacts in the right places which will help greatly soon.
