I thought her nomination to run as VP was a completely transparent move by a desperate candidate, and I also believe there's no chance she's ever on the Presidential ticket again. I didn't consider her stupid, just not ready for prime-time. There's a difference.

That said, I do hope his attempts to quell this Iran madness will work. History shows that diplomacy doesn't work with nutballs like Iran's leader pay no attention to these attempts.

True, indeed!!! In fact, the only time McCain led in the national or state-by-state polls was after he picked Palin.
But, the economic crash doomed McCain. It allowed Obama to go back to equating McCain to Bush and blame them both (and the GOP, in general) for the problems. Until that point, the Dems were still reeling from figuring out how to handle the Alaskan bombshell.
