JUST LIE TO YOURSELF WHEN YOU CHEAT AND EAT SOMETHING. TELL YOURSELF "I AM GOOD", EVEN WHEN YOU AINT, JUST LIKE I DO.
240 is an established LIAR on getbig. Stay away from any/all advice he hands out.

Eggwhites, or a shake. Depending on what your intake throughout the day was, a little peanut butter.
-
What about drinking a Caseinate Protein shake?

IMO you should be having a meal after 7pm....
I would have 250-300gms of chicken or steak with a small (200gm-ish) can of baked beans and 250gms vegetables (frozen in the microwave is easy). Stay away from carbs IMO.
-
maybe you answered this, but what time do you go to sleep? then maybe you can time a meal before bed. me personally if i drink a shake before bed, i usually do it an hour before i go to sleep. this way ill piss before i go to sleep, and i dont wake up in the middle of the night. try to get a slow digesting protien if you go this route.
what ive been doing lately is just eating some chicken before i go to sleep. this way you can have it right before bed. i have a big container of the stuff already cooked, and i just weight out about 4 oz. no carbs, just plain chicken. also, you dont have to worry about the middle of the night piss.
a can of tuna is also cool. if you eat some egg whites, just keep in mind the protien process's really fast.
also, in the past ive boughten roast beef from the deli just to have it before i go to sleep.
-
When starving before bed.....
I usually drink a liter of water & have a protein shake (usually milk & some slow digesting protein with a little fiber) or I'll have two cans of chicken with hot sauce.
-
Dieting sucks bro. If you've had your daily max caloric intake for weight loss you're gonna have to find something with little or no cals. Sometimes when dieting I also wake up hungry as f.uck and I try to fill up on sugar free jello or celery/lettuce.
Btw, you should be eating right before going to bed providing you're sticking to your caloric intake. Spread out your meals.
-
I'll also sometimes eat a handfull of almonds as well...YUM!
-
You should opt for protein, that's a given, but if you arn't cutting or if you are bulking and not worried about fat/carbs you can eat almost whatever you want (with consideration)
-
1 Cup of lowfat cottage cheese. mmmmm. :P
-
a shake or a can of tuna

This no carb thing after 7pm and before bed thing is pure nonsense. I regularly reach for the oatmeal or have a protein/carb bar before bed sometimes right before gettin in bed. Face it your goin 8 hrs without food so you might aswell get something in you for sustained energy release. It means i don't wake up during the night hungry and i'd rather have undisturbed sleep than wake up mid way and chug a shake or whatever. Oh and i'm cuting now and losing bf has never been easier.
Translation: carbs before bed are fine (just no ludicrous amounts)

You need to have some string beans, maybe a salad, perhaps some Flaxseed/Fish oil to slow down the absorbtion of just the protein alone. Your body is absorbing it too fast which is why you are hungry.

Il go for can of tuna (eat it out the tin), Or cup of cottage cheese. or chicken breast.
I had turkey in bread crumbs for T 2nite with carrot and boiled potatoes+glass of milk. About 2 hours after that im gonna have bit of turkey in bread crumbs by itself (no more carbs) and a protein shake. Next meals about 10 hours away.

sugar free popsicles if u are craving something sweet...they taste great and have no sugar and like 10 calories,,or if u want a meal,,try cottage cheese with pineapple,,,that way u get protein and it craves your sweet tooth,,,or lean pockets are an ok meal,..they are low fat and u can pop them into the microwave,,,but u can always stick to the basics ,,,chicken,,beef or tuna,,but at the end of the day I usually have something else besides that to mix it up a bit,,,and it gets old if u eat it every meal..unless u are competing,,dont burn yourself out on the staple foods,,there are plenty of foods that are healthy,,,or celery with some peanut butter,,

Quick protein powder, oil, ice water, and a handful of supplements followed directly by Zzzzzz...

This is the best response to this questions that has been posted so far. Everybody should eat something at bed time, and it should be protein and fiber.
Did you know that for many people, in the early morning, there is a rise in blood glucose level? Some of our hormones tell our liver to release glucose to give us the fuel we need when we wake up, but sometimes the liver releases too much glucose. This happens to many diabetics, but it also happens to some people who are not diabetic. A study showed that eating a fiber containing meal at bedtime can help prevents this. I have always had a protein blend(Whey + Casein + Egg) at bedtime. For a while now I've been adding 6g Oat Bran to my protein shake and now I have a much easier time leaning out and staying lean. I normally have a slow metabolism. You should also eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking, to keep your metabolism from slowing down to preserve energy. So there you go, eat protein + fiber at bed time and eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking to keep your metabolism running fast.

How about this: I spread my meals and am on a good pre-contest diet. I did cardio in the morning and have eaten well during the day, and 1,5 hour after my last meal when it's time to go to bed, I feel so fit that I can't sleep! So I stay awake, then I get hungry again so I have to go eat something and wait a bit to try and go to sleep again. My mind goes everywhere thinking about everything in the world and my body feels as if it's 3 PM. Almost like the opposite of when you overeat and you feel tired and fall asleep right away.
....What to do? I want my sleep.
Thanks a bunch.

Mercedes,
It is harder to get good sleep when your body fat is very low. I think that it was Chris Aceto that said this is probably because the body instinctively thinks that you are starving and that you need to spend less time sleeping and more time hunting for food.
Anyway, have you tried GABA? I take a 1/2 tea spoon in water at bedtime, 30 minutes to an hour after my last meal. It calms me down and helps me fall asleep and get a good night sleep. You could also try a small glass of red wine with your dinner, which will relax and calm you down. Red wine in moderation has been found to help control blood glucose and actually help with your pre-contest diet. I hope this helps!
Oh, by the way, you are HOT. :)

Hello loco,
Yes I think it's definitally true that it means my body wants food. But that's tough, I can't get any more until the next day. Maybe my body has to adapt to taking in less food (just got started with this).
What is GABA?
I don't want to try red wine, dont want those calories. But i'll try herb teas and hope the sleepless nights will pass soon. It has only been 2 nights in a row.
Thanks, and thanks for your P.S. compliment too. ;)

Hello Mercedes!
If this theory is true, then it really doesn't necessarily have to do with the amount of food that you are eating, but with the extremely low body fat. No matter how much you eat at this point, your body probably won't rest until your body fat goes back up, or until your body gets used you your low body fat. Obviously, you are already doing the right thing and getting more than enough calories for your size and more than enough to keep you healthy and looking hot. Once your body gets used to your low body fat, your sleep should go back to normal. I go through this too the last few weeks before competition. The difference is that my percent body fat goes back up after competition. You probably stay lean all the time.
GABA is an amino acid that supposedly increases your natural growth hormone while you sleep, which would be nice. I don't necessarily believe that, but it is also used to calm down, relax and produce a better night sleep. It is relatively cheap. You should give it a try and see if it works for you. I've read that it doesn't work for everybody, but it definitely works for me. When I don't take it, the next morning I don't even remember whether or not I dreamed. When I do take it, not only do I fall asleep quicker and dream through the night, but I also remember everything that I dreamed the next morning, and I also feel very well rested. I get mine at dpsnutriton, 100 grams for $14.99. I get the AST brand, but you can get it from any company. They are all the same. I've heard those herb teas help too, but I've never tried them. Hope that helps! Loved all the photos on your site! ;)

My bodyfat isnt that low yet. I am preparing for a contest and am lowering my bodyfat. It's going well and i'm feeling soooo fit and my metabolism is pretty fast, that I feel energetic all the time, even when it's bedtime. Also, I feel hungry for carbs, that's normal, but it keeps me from falling asleep. I am busting my ass of in the gym so that's not it either. I'm fine in the afternoon, but in the evening as I take out carbs I feel so hungry for carbs that I feel "energetic", I start thinking about everything in the world and can't sleep.
I guess you're right, that my body wants me to get up and get food, it needs to adapt. I'll check out your link, thanks.
You know, I tried ZMA once from Ultimate Nutrition, it made me fall asleep like a baby but when I woke up in the morning, it was as if I couldnt wake up all day. So that's not helpful either.
PS: I'll be doing new shoots in February. ;)
