Now i realize Olbermann is a polarizing figure. One who draws a lot of criticism from this board, Billy especially. But i ask you to listen to this. It is part 1 and part 2 and 3 are posted as links if you wish to continue viewing.
This in part sums up a lot of what health care reform means to me -

Here's the question...
Why doesn't the Obama admin consider allowing patients seek coverage with out-of-state insurance co's to reduce the costs? Instead, he wants a gov't option. The only thing I can think of is because historically liberals want gov't control and gov't allocations. They don't consider it socialism, but smart execution of funds geared to do what is best for the American people. So, we look at the short pres. career of Obama; he took over banks, the auto industry, now he's shooting for healthcare. It's about the fundementals of two parties. Yes, the Republicans have made mistakes, but to allow the gov't to control another aspect of what we enjoy as freedom, we are lossing that very thing.

Fair point, but no one has raised it. The repubs have yet to propose anything except negativity. If they proposed this maybe it would draw favour. Fact is a public option is better than status quo. If someone wants to raise the crossing state lines for insurance then they should.

Oh, no, this was raised many times. I agree, the Republicans have not offered anything either. I blame them as well. Someone needs to get off their asses if this party it to become part of this. But a public option is not better than status quo. How do you make sense of this when 80% of this country feels nothing is wrong with their healthcare coverage and approve of it. The real problem is its tough to fix something that really is not broke. Now before you go ballistic, I and all agree, costs need to come down. How does that happen?? Gov't control?? Show me where this has worked before? Let competing insurance co's fight it out... Prices will come down and more people will get coverage. But remember this, we have the best healthcare in the world, the best will always cost more.

Yeah, I know.... when you hit em with facts, you get a label. ;D

So where exactly outside of some Sunday shows on Fox has this been raised?
Have the Repubs come up with a counter plan or are they still nit picking here and there?
No plan = Nothing come up with.
You can post all you like about YOUR ideas but fact is YOUR party has failed you. Get angry at me and Obama and other democratic supporters all you want. You should be mad at your own party. If they came up with a counter plan and won public support for it you wouldn't even be on the verge of the public option.

why make a new plan when 80% has been agreed upon why not simply work on the remaining 20% of the plan you have sitting in front of you.
liberal reasoning never ceases to amaze me

You are probably right KC, but the thing is the "other" sunday shows are in the tank for Obama and if it is against his policies, they won't talk about it. So yes, probably FOX is the only place. And any chance this has helped rial up the Americans who oppose more gov't control? I think so.
