At first i was thinking so.
But, look like he is puking realy.
Anyway, if he is puking, its showing that how he was training like pussy before.
If you train your legs hard continuosly, your system and stamina is done and you wont puke. OK, maybe i will be suffer to the death from the work out with Dorian. But, I wont puke.

hey man it was just a joke, sure i dont think they were acting.. i believe chris was training hard when he was younger but may be this was his first time to train hard after many years of training like a pussy.. dont forget he is in his 40s now and his stamina, joints, muscles.. etc are for sure not like 10 years ago!!..
you are 40 too but your case is different because you are natural.. ;)
-
everyone reacts differently to intense exercise, some vomit, others pass out and if you're a god like me, you just shrug it off! ;D
-
Imagine martinez and flex wheeler there etc, they would DIE

kyomu you both l;ook like shit AND train like a pussy

I agree.
BUT you can train hard as hell with legs and still push yourself to puking even afterwards etc.

Funny thing is they are only doing one work set Per exercise. Not even very challenging.

dorian was always doing 2 light sets then one heavy set to failure, this video shows only the last set of each exercise!..
-

I htink every set is pretty damn intense ya know
-
Love to see Wolf get his ass there too. Can you imagine the results. :o Though I didn't have him the winner every year, this is how the Dorian won 6 Mr. Olympias. Away from all the gossip and distraction, and balls to the walls training year round. Glass is a great trainer but I think Chris got too comfortable and Charles wasn't killing him like back in the days when Chris was winning. I honestly don't think Dorian has ever had a pussy workout.
-

not really.
the lighter ones are not to failure. more like warmups for the heavy one.
-
Let's start a fund-raiser to get dennis wolf to train over there. That would be priceless :P

Since when did puking become the hallmark of bodybuilding training, let alone bodybuilding success.
First, with regards to competitive resumes, let us not forget that of Cormier: 4 IronMan titles, 1 NOC, 1, San Francisco Pro, several Grand Prix victories, and 2 third-place finishes at the Olympia.
Plus, which two bodybuilding legends used the phrases, "Train; don't strain" and "Stimulate; don't annihilate."?
Hints:(1) The legend who said the former won bodybuilding's most prestigious title FOUR times (his last, at the expense of a multiple Olympia winner) and was a professional strongman.
(2) The second is arguably the greatest bodybuilder of all times, winning his last championship at the expense of one Dorian Yates.

Yes but obviously Chris just wasn't used to that type of training, and it was a shock to his CNR as well as his muscles, training at that intensity all the time wouldn't make you throw up each workout lol

You also forgot the 6 consecutive runner-up finishes at the Arnold, which some of those he very easily could have won over Jay.
I can't figure out the first quote, but I know there hasn't been someone to win the Olympia four times....
Scott-2x
Oliva-3
Arnold-7
Franco-2
Zane-3
Bannout-1
Dickerson-1
Haney-8
Yates-6
Coleman-8
Jay-3
Dex-1
Haney said your last quote, however.

If its repost sorry.
Wonder how he would handle free squats then.

Yates still running the show. would Ronnie be on the floor puking too, if Yates took him thru a session?

The answer to the first question is Bill Pearl, four-time NABBA Mr. Universe. He won his last title by defeating 3-time Mr Olympia, Sergio Oliva.
Remember that, back in those days, the Olympia was NOT the top title in bodybuilding. The NABBA Universe, however, was.

Would have helped had you actually said the major clue in your hint. Sure, back then the Olympia wasn't the big one...but you didn't cite that part in your description.
Obla di obla da....

I thought I did, when I stated that "The legend who said the former won bodybuilding's most prestigious title FOUR times (his last, at the expense of a multiple Olympia winner) and was a professional strongman."
The implication was that the title won by this legend (Pearl) wasn't the Mr. Olympia title, as it wasn't the most prestigious title at the time.

Jesus guys, don't waste your time arguing about such a minor thing.
-
Puking isn't necessarily an indication of intense leg work. When I was younger I would hack up on a regular basis training legs. But, I found that was due mostly to my not breathing properly, which made me dizzy and light-headed. When I corrected that, my leg workouts got much better and my legs got bigger and stronger, sans the barfing.
-

We weren't arguing. It was simply a clarification (unless your reference to arguing is with regards to training).
-
Yates still running the show. would Ronnie be on the floor puking too, if Yates took him thru a session?
I think if Ronnie worked out with him now, he would. But prime ronnie and dorian together, I think ronnie would use more weight but dorian would put out more effort.

Cormier is only #3 all time in IFBB Pro wins .... so i guess he never lived up to his hype ::) ::) ::)
(Levrone & Coleman only more wins)

He won one nonetheless.
Of course, I gather the question about Chick was an implication that his lack of multiple wins was simply because he supposedly didn' t train "hard enough".

Agreed 100%
Train smarter, not harder

Agreed 100%
Train smarter, not harder
I believe you wrote several articles, back in 2002 (I believe), that when it came to this "hardcore" training, you were a competitor who'd been there and done that. And, you had the injuries to prove it.
It was the "Squats Suck" article in IronMan, the "Butchering Sacred Cows" article in FLEX, and a similar article in MuscleMag (the name of which escapes me at this time).
-
Agreed 100%
Train smarter, not harder
you can do both.
Dorian always uses very very good form While training hard.
He did explain why he tore his biceps though.
-
Training for the Ironman after being off for so long is definately a shock to his or anyone's system. Hopefully, we will see Chris Cormier at the Ironman in great shape.

Interesting. How did you correct it?
-
What are the odds that that last scene is just a really bad hangover?
-
Interesting. How did you correct it?
People tend to hold their breath, when squatting or doing heavy leg presses. That makes you light-headed, dizzy, and induces vomiting.
I basically take deep deliberate breathes when descending or squats and leg presses and exhale deliberately, when pressing or squatting up.
-
throwing up = loss of nutrients = bad = not "harcore" or "cool"
alleviate, don't deviate :D
-

Chris hasn't trained in yrs, this is the same man that was doing 695 pound sqauts, and was known for his pressing power. How soon you guys forget. People didn't want to train with him, and guess who his training partners were back in the early 90's? Flex and Rico. So if they could hang with Chris, it kinda dispells the rumor that Flex was lazy, at least when he was a amatuer.
-

wise words
-
This has more to do with fans of Dorian Yates and their assertion that any who don't train like him are "lazy".
-

I dont think so.
He wont do well anymore because of his muscle tear.

You are correct sir!
Concerning this notion that throwing up is some indication of a "good" workout...it has more to do with what you wrote in another post...breathing... and motion. If you notice, people can beat theselves into the ground training anything BUT legs...and generally wont throw up afterwards...the combination of extremely heavy weight/ breathing or lack of), and the up and down motion of squats/ hacks...will all tend to put you into tossing your protein powder, mode.
Why this is thought of as some sort of badge of honor is beyond me....
-

because meatheads are generally fags who try to impress other dudes in the gym like fags
intelligent bodybuilders use the gym and lifting as part of the process of refining or building the body to achieve an end result
intelligent bodybuilders train intelligently and safe so they avoid injury and stay consistent and be productive

Talking about yourself there I feel gypsy
What's pathetic is that this greasy Down's syndrome lookalike truly believes he looks better and is in better shape than the great Taka.
And the hardest this low life gypsy has ever exerted himself was when he was watching kiddie porn and having a mutual jack off session with his boyfuking mentor Stewart Swerdlow.

Bob, Can you do me a favor?
Can you post a pic of the most shredded hard grnite physique of yours?(No homo, of course)
-
Funny thing is they are only doing one work set Per exercise. Not even very challenging.
you're obviously one of those who think that several, non max sets is harder than one all out set.
i guarantee that you've never trained hard in your life.
until you've experienced what an all out set is, you are not qualified to comment. so shut up.
if you can do more than one all out set, then you didnt go all out. thats how you can tell.
do you need some more help with this?

i generally train 3 sets each exercise. Every one of those to absolute failure. If you feel that it's only possible for one set then you are a huge pussy

I have to admit I've been struggling with that. I used to only think of weight training as means to build bigger muscles but nowadays I'm interested in the mental challenge those weights poses even though going balls to wall doesn't necessarily mean better muscle growth.

Good post. I train this way. It takes yrs and yrs to generate the mental focus to put everything you have into one allout set. Novices and intermediate lifters who try this technique and feel like that they have more left for another set is because they arent channeling everything into that one set. Disco Stu you are obviously incredibly jacked and strong as well. ;D

One thing I've noticed when I workout is that pretty much all the muscles except for the legs fail before it gets physically(and mentally) uncomfortable. Doing leg presses or hack squats is what gets to me the most... almost scary how hard you can potentially push yourself, a lot of pain barriers to break. But dumbbell presses, lat pull downs etc never affect me that much.

Yeah legs are the one bodypart where the allout set doesnt really apply, at least in my opinion. I know what you are saying it seems like if you can take the pain you can keep pushing out reps. And the legs are used to such high indurance activity from walking constantly it takes more to fatigue them.
