Title: Lou Ferrigno had a $900,000 2 year contract with the WBF???
Post by: Vince G, CSN MFT on October 12, 2009, 10:39:12 AM
He was actually signed in 1992 to his luck just before the WBF was going defunct so he never made any appearance at the WBF Championships or endorsed any ICON-PRO supplements that I know about.

If this is true then talk about some free money...... :o

Lou was signed in 1991. But he left in 1992, shortly after the WBF started its drug-testing protocols. Lou was supposed to be the guy to help get bodybuilding (or at least, the WBF) more crossover appeal. When he left, Vince McMahon got the strange idea to replace him with Lex Luger.

I think Joe weider was very upset when Lou came back, and went to WBF instead of the IFBB. Arnold, Franco, Zane, Ferrigno were the weiders money makers (advertisements, magazines, supplements, equiptment) through the 70's and 80's.....then Lou crossed ovet the WBF, chasing the money (as he did with the Hulk tv show). But ironically Lou never paid a political price when he came back to the IFBB.

His mistake was only doing the Olympia. He should have also done some Arnold classics and night of Champions too.
