The president complained bitterly about the insurers’ attack on the legislation. “The insurance industry is rolling out the big guns and breaking open their massive war chest to marshal their forces for one last fight to save the status quo,” he said. “They’re filling the airwaves with deceptive and dishonest ads. They’re flooding Capitol Hill with lobbyists and campaign contributions. And they’re funding studies designed to mislead the American people.”

Well, that's nice for starters.
I'm expecting some big meltdowns in this thread. Wait until 333386 wakes up.

I just did. This is unreal. This is truly disgusting IMHO. ******* is attacking insurance companies but rewarding the criminal wall street banksters and GS with trillions of dollars. Nice!
Also, why the heck is ********* attacking health insurers while at the same time mandating taxpayers buy insurance from them under his health bill? Is this man that dumb?
I think so.

How is it disgusting when Obama is finally actually managing to get his thumb out of his ass and target the insurance companies?
You actually defend them?
But at the same time you're against the banks?
I don't get it.
How about this 336.
Goldman Sachs, who you admittedly don't like, owns big shares in several insurances companies, eg Hanover and Allmerica.
It doesn't stop there.
Financial institutes all over the world have interests in both investment and insurance.
That's no secret.
Although I will state this.
It's easy for Obama to talk a tough game.
I highly doubt he'll do anything real to change it up so the middle and working class will see a difference.

Hedge - how on the one hand can ****** attack the companies and get us all riled up against them and then in the next sentence require us to buy insurance from them under threat of penalty and fine?
Do you not see the insanity of this?
Serious, I truly think ****** may be one of the most economically illiterate presidents we have ever had.

Won't the insurance be paid through your federal or state taxes?

No! They are going to require people to buy private insurance from the very companies he is attacking! On the 1040 we have to file there is going to be a section reguiring you to show proof of insurance or pay a hefty fine.

Reflection on Baseball Tonight: If John Kruck eats any more donuts I'll need a wider wide screen TV.

This is a dog and pony show, in the press they attack, behind closed doors hey make deals. Just the fact that the government has the audacity to attack insurance companies, when they themselves are the ones that set the rules. There is no end to the hypocrisy of the federal government.
-
here on getbig, Obama could condemn cancer of the ass, and people would find a way to defend it.

The liberals who support this are worse hypocrites and liars than anything Bush did.
On the hand they attack corporations, attack insurance companies, attack doctors, attack medical device makers, attack drug companies, attack capitilism, etc.
YET, YET, YET, YET, YET, YET
They are applauding ******* who is going to mandate that theyt buy insurance from these very same companies under the penalties of the IRS and possible jail. So basically ****** is enabling the IRS to enforce people being customers of the very same companies they attack. I guess this little bit of irony is lost on the typical leftist.
You cant make this up. I'm serious, Bushbots were bad, but the supporters of this admn truly take the cake for hypocrisy and stupidity.

OK, maybe you subscribe to the divide and conquer strategy, but I don't. Set the rules then complain and attack, don't change the rules to benefit the average American. This is SOP for the fed, attack and demonize, draw the attention away from your own guilt.

Would you mind for once using your MBA and try to debate a topic on the merits instead of spinning like a top?

As soon as the angels dropped that pop up ala Luis Castillo in the first inning, I knew the game was over. The Angels generally play flawless baseball, and they are going to have to do so in order to beat the Yanks.

Did I hear correctly that The Angels skipped some of the pre-game practice?
Great move.
Being used to sunny California, warm weather, warm everything.
Then skip a chance to get the feel of the field and conditions?
Great move. ::)
Wouldn't surprise me if the Yanks sweep this one.

Scossia is too good a manager to allow that and the Angels generally play crisp baseball-- I say Yankees in 6. I am shocked they skipped warmups though. It was beyond fucking freezing yesterday.

Dont take from CC either. He pitched like a beast last night.

Great control, was able to move the batters to the inside with high fastballs and shit then punish them with that slider.
Hard to beat when he's on like that.
I love this game.

I like the small ball aspect of the game that's developed since the whole McGwire/Sosa/Bonds thing.
Baseball just have more dimensions to it these days IMHO.
Nobody was a bigger Cleveland Indians fan than me back in 1995-1996 when they absolutely tore up every ballpark there was.
But I gotta say I like see the way players aren't even trying to hit it out anymore, mostly just trying to hit spots in the outfield.

Since that guy makes millions a year and only works once every five days, is it asking too much for him to show up in shape?
-
That is his shape. He would probably be an offensive guard in the NFL if he wasn't a pitcher.
Plus-- he doesnt have to bat unless hes in the world series so all he has to do is field his position and throw the ball once a week.
Babe Ruth wasn't in shape either--lol

If his shape helps him pitch the way he does, im ok with that.
