http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Former-Celtics-star-Antoine-Walker-is-broke-and-?urn=nba,198509
In 12 years, Antoine Walker(notes) made more than $110 million playing professional basketball moderately well. Take away taxes, throw in some adidas endorsement money and a "NBA Live 99" cover, and he's left with, what, $60-to-65 million?
Whatever the details, it was a big chunk of change, which, amazingly, wasn't enough.
That's right, during the last several months, the once multi-millionaire athlete has been pursued by multiple financial institutions for unpaid debts.
In fact, according to The Boston Globe, "Employee No. 8" owes more than $4 million to his creditors and is facing felony check fraud charges in Las Vegas. All of this at the age of 33. Wild.
Now I know what you're thinking: How in the world does somebody — not named Montgomery Brewster — even begin to blow through that amount of money?
-
I couldn't but I'm quite sure my ex-wife would have no problem blowing through that in a quarter of that time........with absolutely nothing to show for it!
-
The question isn't could you, but would you be so dumb to. ;D

A good portion of these nba stars that are rookies do the same thing they live the getto life and every waking day is filled with basketball.when they finaly make it to the pros they have no education they get there money and away they go purchasing 2 million dollar homes and cant pay the taxes they buy cars on credit they go crazy and then there busted happens all the time they file bankrupcy and if they are still in the nba they can start over again but most likley they have goverment taxes to pay......crazy cycle but no one cares as long as they play ball and make money for the nba no one cares...
-
Who knows? I'd be willing to give it the old college try, tho.

You just have to watch MTV crips and see how these model citizens hahaha spend their "hard earned" ::) cash...its a disgrace that somebody has that much money anyways.
But I am sure he will be able to sell on the 10 Bentleys 5 super big diamond watches each worth 100K and so on for good money ::)
-
The question isn't could you, but would you be so dumb to. ;D
Exactly.
Wasn't this the premise of "Brewster's Millions?"
You had to spend X amount of money is X amount of time, but there were rules like you couldn't buy 20 houses in one day?
-
the real crime is that such an aveaage player was paid that much money to begin with
-
id rather blow other things
Of course you would, Marcella 8)
If he would of had a Jew manager, things could of been different..Just saying.

Good point but i take it a bit further - NOBODY should be paid anything close to a million for dribbling a ball around the court.
Sport people are way way waaaaay overpaid - that has to stop

Who said that? It makes it worse. At least if he bought material items he'd be able to recoup some of his money. I'm just pointing out yet another getbig expert who's talking out of their ass about something.

hahaha! classic Chris Rock
-
Give me 4 million and i'm good for life.

Yrs ago FSU made athletes take a sort finances class. It was a class for athletes on how to best manage their monies.
I was fortunate enough to be in a class with Warrick Dunn, Peter Warrick, and a few others.
Back on subject, sometimes these athletes do not persay Burn through these monies on goods like cars, mansions etc but rather their entourage. I don't mean their homies but attorneys, financial advisors?CPA's, agents etc etc.
You would be suprised that some people have multiple financial people to watch the others, multiple lawyers etc etc and can rack up a healthy monthly nut.
Not saying this is the case with this guy but you would be suprised.

Flashy stuff is nice at first BUT after a while its just like "eh...ya whteva", then after a while everybody else whos got money has the same things. I say all the time if i was filthy rich, like having 110 mill......i would buy a decent car, house, ......not no 10 million home, oh and open up my own gym and just put the rest away for the "neccessities of life" and also just to piss people off cuz they know you have money too do and buy whtever, BUT you dont. Most people who are rich all end up doing the same exact shit, buy a multi-million dollar home, buy 4-5 boats, cars etc....I dont know if i would want that much money either. Anybody ever see that show on "E",it was just on last week, about the "wall street billionaires", that one dude got kidnappend just for having 1.2 billion or something like that. Thats another reason i wouldnt want to tell anybody i had that much money.
-
If I honestly had that much money, I'd buy
my dream cars...Maybach and Konigsegg, A small but nice house in Germany, France, England and Switzerland.
Then I'd put all the other money in the bank and just travel around every European country and fuck just about any chick I'd want with the intentions of impregnation. The kids would all be taken care off left an incredible amount of money that was earning interest upon my death. Everyone wins 8)
Other than that a philanthropist in poor countries.
True story... 8)....Yes, negro....negro
-
That stellar education he received while at the University of Kentucky. With Calipari there - expect even more of these types of athletes.
-
where is block when you need him :D
You can take the n---er out of the ghetto... but you can't take ghetto out of the n----r.
I remember Antoine from highschool. He's from Englewood. Ghetto neighborhood infested with crime, gangs, drive-by's, drugs, unemloyment, vacant lots and hopelessness.
- Block!
