The UAW is already starting their b.s. on the news Ford made money.
The UAW needs to be disbanded.

F-ck the UAW.
Hats off to ford. Didn't take a bailout and the only U.S. automaker making a good profit right now. That's how this country is supposed to work. Company not doing well? Change the product, the sales & marketing or the management and move forward with progress.

Exactly...here in my area they can't keep hybrids on the lots.
Anybody like the new Mustangs?
I can't wait to see the new F-150 on the road. That, and they are bringing back the F-100 to replace the Ranger. As you can tell...I'm a little more of a truck guy than a car guy.

I seriously need to consider moving.

Uh, Wagoner, at GM was going to be put out regardless of who was in officer, is his piss poor management of GM was well known. They should have put Bob Lutz in charge, anybody read about his Cadillac CTS-V challenge? Brilliant marketing strategy.
Ford has been making profits, but it is also a shell game, they sold Jaguar, Rover, they are in the process of selling Volvo to most likely the Chinese, yet I really don't see the profits of their car sales.

thats what ppl and companies should do in economic slow downs...not borrow their way out of debt ::)
If b/c they sold off some shit they can keep from taking more of my money then hey its a win.

Huh? "Shell game"? The profits for the sales of the "PAG" have been booked many quarters ago and have zero impact on the current profit reporting. Either way, selling those brands was the complete, 100% right thing to do from a business standpoint. It has allowed them to focus on the core, money making brands with the most volume and focus the use of resources and money.
This profit is likely only going to be for this 3rd quarter but they will be the #1 U.S. automaker in the near future. They have also done a great job improving quality, marketing, efficiency and they have been gaining significant market share as well.

The only domestic vehicles I would by at this point:
1. Chevy Corvette
2. Ford Mustang GT
3. Ford F150
4. Ford Escape

All excellent choices, except I'd replace the Mustang with the new Camaro.
The Escape has been a huge success for Ford. Even the non-hybrid models have great mileage for their class of SUV.
