How much can you power clean and jerk? It's so rare to see a dynamic movement like this in any gym. Everyone is benching and doing curls. It seems this great display of true power is only popular with college football teams.
Through the years I always did the typical bodybuilding and power lifts. When I decided to include power cleans I immediately noticed more spring in my legs. My sprinting speed and vertical leap increased.

Was the 2000 before or after the fuck-up?
-
105 kg or 231 pounds. Weeeeak, I know.
-
If I could clean 140kg IM sure I could jerk it
-
On a good day, 245-255lbs. I'm way out of practice. If I remember correctly, C/J should be around 80% of your squat.
-
About 2000 lbs. I fucked up my upper mid back doing this shit in highschool
BDB dropping loads on the record books. I like that.
-
25000 tons on a good day.
-
when i competed in high school, i did 290 pounds in the clean and jerk at 195 pounds with a pause bench press of 345. I would have continued but most gyms wont allow you to clean and jerk and they dont have the right equipment to do it either.

Olympic lifts in sports is over rated. There are much safer and just as effective ways to train for power other than olympic lifts. When you see high school or even college athletes doing these lifts, they are often done wrong.

To Danimal;
Yes, with the c/j you rebend the knee, duck under the bar and use leg drive to jerk the bar up after the clean. With a c/p, your legs remain locked after the clean. The press must have no leg drive, it's pure upper body.

Nothing to brag about but it's fun to practice.
Thanks again to you guys who gave me advice in the other thread.

Haven't a clue - there ain't enough space in our gym to try it out.
-
Nothing worth bragging about. I only do them a few times a year, but doing some olympic lifts every now and again can be fun.
-
Hang Cleans are fantastic.

Thats part of the fun though , smashing a skinny tit in the jaw with the end of the bar as you are cleaning from the ground.
