Well as many know I am completly natural - so you can laugh all you want the 100kg were a long time best for me.
Today I feelt good and increased it by 110kg :) I was suprised how easy it was and possibly try to extend to 120kg next time.
I know its not very heavy for a lot of you monsters out there but keep in mind I take a very wide grip have long arms and I always touch the chest so I am quite happy with my new personal best.

i am a life time natural and when i was 18 i was doing 130 for one rep and in my early 20s i was doing 130 for 6-8 reps (without any support)!!.. i guess you have tall joints?!..

yeah I have very long arms and I feel not comfortable with a smaller grip - I do close bench for my triceps and I have managed 120 already when I go close for once - but I don't feel like my chest is worked out that way - and I don't have good control over the weight with a more narrow grip.
I really feel that everything over 100kg is pretty dangerous since use a thumbless grip as well (I tried both but I feel far more comfortable to use a thumbless) my weight once slipped with 90kg and I dont want to repeat that particular moment - thanks me to christ I was "on the way up" so It didn't hurt that much and no damage done.

you know what, after years and years of training I have discovered that the best chest experiences (for me) are the flys dumbblees, or cable or pec dec.. heavy presses are important of course but i do more flys now, unlike the presses they train the chest directly and dont give part of the effort to other muscles (triceps and shoulders)..

108kg atm.
ur a big guy

Not bad Stark - I think the best I did as a natural was 110kg also but I weighed about 95kg when I did it.
Heaviest bench as a gear user was 160kg.

Yeah that's about what I do now at 24 and 110kg. Should be able to at least do bodyweight.

I don't believe it. Increasing your max by 10 kg from one training to another is highly unrealistc.

To be fair though, being happily stuck on 100kg for so long seems unrealistic.

I think "Winged Lion" aka Sevastase is trying to reach 1000 posts in his first month under that handle and is prepared to spew out any kind of rubbish to get there.

I said the same, we usually just do halv reps on the bench, or not Half but stop a little bit above the chest, but Im planning on filming the next bench attempt =)
-
benching your own body weight at what 225lbs? You must be a fat ass, no wonder why we've never seen a pic

Good idea

For those of us that operate on pounds and not kilos-
1 kilo=2.2lbs?
120x2.2= just about 265lbs?
Good lift. Now try doing it for reps, and see how well you can do with it before you up the 1RM again. (good intended post)

yeah I have been lifting 100kg for a while - like I said feelt good today had a good sleep and feelt stong.
-
when i was 18 at 88kilos, i pause benched 156.5 kilos. at 100 kilos i was repping 152 kilos for 6. my max was about 183.7 kilos. step your game up.
-
natural i can incline press 110kg for 10reps (2nd exercise) would like to do 140/315 for at least 6, possible without gear?..

Stark,
We should meet up for a workout sometime, we're both Dubliners... I could give you a few pointers on your bench.
I just set a new PB last week with 100 kg... but I did 22 reps (lifetime natty).
The Luke
-
Stark what's your bodyfat?
-
Congrats Stark.
You were probably capable of 110kg's for a while but just didn't get the right kick up the arse. Don't stop there though, get chasing Goudy. A race for 405!
I suck at benching, 110kgs at 100kg bodyweight was my personal best last time i was benching regularly about 4/5 years ago. (for comparison at the same time my deadlift was 185kg for 4 reps and my squat 192.5 for 9 reps).
-
hey dude as long as you are seeing good progress fuck what anyone thinks!!! we all had to start somewhere , no body starts out benching 400
-
just keep pumping and make improvements. Not all of us are made up to be powerlifters.

x2.. also some guys may be weak in a certain lift like bench press but very strong in deadlifts or vice versa.. and some guys are strong like beasts but genetically look like shit.. no one has everything!..
-
awesome........now go out and learn how to speak English.
-
haha what's up with the thread title "Made an new bench person best today" wtf
lol, i thought Dave Czech had returned. ;D
