Title: Best type of routine to cut?
Post by: SolidJay on November 20, 2009, 10:27:20 AM
Would it be better to do full body workout or HIT workout or anything else?
Or it doesn't matter just as long as you do cardio/diet?

what ever helped you put on mass is what you should stick with. adjust cardio and diet with training intense in the gym.

Weight training alone may help you to stabilize your weight and possibly grow (hopefully) but weight training alone does very little to make appreciable and significant cuts in bodyfat.

Yes, your resting metabolism increases with every pound of lean body mass that you aquire, but if you are looking to get ripped without a caloric deficit and/or cardio, you are sadly mistaken.

there has to be a caloric deficit. Period.

My advice would be to obviously concentrate on the diet and cardio to trim the fat but you've got to try and maintain your strength as much as you can while cutting - keep training as heavy as possible - don't slack off on putting weight on the bar even when you may be feeling weaker than normal.

What I meant was would it be better to do split routines, or full body workouts or any other type of workout to maximize fat loss.

Do whatever workout works best for you, increase cardio{sprints}, cut back on carbs.

What's the fuckin problem?

I could lead you right to the gates of hell, but you'll have to turn the handle yourself.

the important thing is that you keep the weights heavy, so that you give your body a reason to hang on to the muscle you already have. you can lower your training volume (obviously depends on what you are doing now) as its easier to maintain muscle compared to growing. and lowering training volume can be a smart thing as you have less calories coming in.

the workouts are all about maintaining muscle and shouldnt be used as a way to burn calories  loosing fat is achieved by creating a caloric deficit..mainly by eating less food and then adding some cardio (if you want...you dont have to do cardio)

agree with dyslexic...

if you want to lose fat..you need to cut calories which means you will burn some muscle along with fat..it's inevitable...especially if you are doing it without anabolics.  you cannot grow with a calorie deficit...accept it..cut up..and bulk up later if you don't like your look.
