Let's say you could only do 5 different weightlifting exercises for the rest of your life. Which would you choose with a priority on overall athletic strength and health? Doesn't count bodyweight stuff life push ups, pull ups, crunches. etc.
1. Deadlift
2. Power clean to push press
3. Squat
4. Bench press
5. Any kind of rows

Dips (with added weight of course...)
Squats
Chins (with the added weight again)
Deadlifts
Overhead Press

Front Squats
Hang Cleans
Push Press
Floor Press
SLDL

1. Squat
2. Pull-up
3. Overhead Pressing
4. Dips
5. Barbell curl
-
1) squat
2) Romanian Dl with shrug at top of lift
3) chins
4) dips
5) overhead press
If only one exercise, than squat clean and press/jerk.
