Title: Y board music thread.
Post by: The Showstoppa on November 23, 2009, 06:54:33 PM
Good thread to discuss some real music.  I don't want to hear about trance (whatever the fuck that is), or "muse" or faggity-ass Radiohead......so Calvin, you should probably not post....

but for the rest of you gents, what you got?  anything new I should give a listen to?

Everything's been done, and redone and redone to death (current generation)
music is getting f*cking HORRIBLE, I'm stuck listening to the classics from the 70's, 80's and 90's.. none of this new shit does anything for me.

The new HateBreed is OK.

See if you can find some old Johnny Rebel, that will lift your spirits.

I'm a boring geek, LOL! Even worse when it comes to music.

I see blues as a study of the human condition expressed in poetry.

Willie Dixon wrote some of my favorite stuff.

Considered starting a blues thread last week but guessed people here are more into heavier stuff like Hate Breed. A lot of heavy metal could be considered blues for disenfranchised whites. :)

I actually like a lot of blues music.....Robert Johnson, Muddy, Howlin' Wolf, Buddy Guy, Hooker, Peter Green.......I love to hear somebody play the slide really well.......Duane Allman

With the exception of Robert Johnson and possibly Peter Green all of those people have recorded a Willie Dixon song at some point.

Yes.  Very talented!  Kinda reminds me of a guy that played in a lobby at a hotel we stayed at on our last vacation to CA.  I bought a CD but never played it.  I will try to find it to see what his name is.

I bought their latest cd and have been playing the hell out of it.
I like how you can tell Letterman and Schafer are impressed with the performance.

Forced to choose I'd probably never listen to Journey ever again and would probably only miss two songs they did.

I like the less popular Van Morrison stuff like "Wonderful remark" but still believe he's pretty great.
