F u...I was gonna post this!!! ;D But I like it. The rear is aggresive yet elegant. The front is elegant. The interior...is like whoa! I think the F10 M5 will be off the meter, especially in terms of design, if they go off this as a base.

:D

I like this one right off the bat. I hated the E60 when it first came out, then it grew on me and I love it now. I like how BMW has gone back to a simple classy design for the new 5er.

the M5 is going to be sick! ;D

its funny how mercedes and bmw have traded spots. MB is more aggressive and bmw is getting conservative.

Yeah, I agree. BMW is going back to more conservative design because of the polarizing designs of Bangle (Hooydonk was the main designer, but Bangle was head of design). Mercedes needed to get rid of that stuffy image, and the new C-class shows it. The new E class and E class coupe show it as well.

Only Caddy, Corvette Z06 or ZR1 or Viper are worth the mention. Ford has stumbled so much with Lincoln and the T-bird.
Detriot pretty much offers nothing.

So, put out product. If I worked for one of the big three and I had a idea to make better cars, I would tell management. You think only American car companies are being hit?  Toyota fired a whole lot of people and uper mangement because they weren't selling cars, even though, its a Recession.
Americans  accept the status quo with their cars. Granted th reliability  has shot way up, but they offer nothing to whet my palate, or other consumers. All except for Caddy show the fighting spirit. As I said, give examples of what I should buy.

Looks great, but I hate how huge the kidney grills have gotten. The 7 looks ridiculous in person IMO.

I'll enjoy the E92 M3 for a couple more years and see what's up. I heard next M3 will be forced induction, I love the idea, but will miss shifting at 8k RPM on a high revving V-8. That is soo sweet ;) Could use a little more torque, but if anyone that has driven the M5 and the M3 would understand what I'm saying ;)

Front end looks good. Will have to wait till i see it in the metal.

It's funny, i didn't like the look of the new z4, but now i have seen a few with my own eyes, i really like it. This might be the same.

Yeah, I drove the M5, not the stick version, and yeah, it's down on torque.

I swear they need to use that V10 in something else sometype of sports/GT M series. I remember hearing that they would come out with a Mercedes  SL competitor. That is where they might put in the V12 and the M sport V10.

A piece of crap...I've never been into cars cause I don't like car payments and I'm not going to put myself at the mercy of the bank or car dealership for the next X years for something that depreciates the moment I drive it off the lot. And I don't believe in leasing.

I can appreciate a nice car I just wouldn't buy one myself.

Fair enough. I guess that kind of attitude will end up saving you quite a lot of money in the long run. Doesn't mean you have to drive a piece of shit, just buy a Toyota Camry and keep it for 20 years or something.  ;D

Unfortunately i love cars, and i can already tell that i will always spend whatever i can justify on one.

Sounds like my dad. Except he is very ahem, frugal. He hates giving other people his money. The car has totalled before he gets rid of it. And he can fix a car. I had a 1987 Ford Taurus that I nicknamed "Birth Control", the car had to be towed back home and was totalled, but my dad brought it back to life. We go to car shows, expecially old car shows, and he loves em. but he doesn't want to put any money into them, nor pay someone to do it, even though, he knows what to do.

exactly, every car me and my parents have ever bought was american.  99% chance of getting the new srx soon (as soon as the mexicans are done remodeling).  but the cars aren't appealing to me.

questions, what does "f10" stand for and also will the m5 look the same and be available in a coupe?  i need something to fill up the 12 car garage .  i have a spot open between the lambo and the bugatti.  ::)

F10 IS THE ENGINEERING SERIES .say a 1999 3 series is an e46,2009 3 series e90.2007 5 series e60,so basically f10 is next letter turned over in engineering platform model.

Yeah and all their profits and white collar jobs are overseas.  Ford keeps their money in the us and supports a ton of whitecollar and bluecollar jobs.

So does Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, Nissan, BMW, and so on, they ALL have plants in the US that employ US workers, so I don't see the point.

I guess you are blinded, if America built turds, which they did for decades, I guess you will still buy them, correct?? WIth your hard earned money that is ridiculous, guess GM and the rest need people with your mindset and attitude so they can keep pumping out POS' and you would still buy them ::)

For me my money is towards Germans and Japanese because Japan builds cheap affortable, reliable cars and Germans build luxury sport performance and that suits my needs. Plus I work hard for my money and I want a good product.

Even though America is starting to build good cars like the CTS V's, and Ford has some quality cars I wouldn't mind buying. For now BMW it is ;)

Just as NJFlex said, F10 is the internal  engineering code number for the platform. For instance, the current 911, it's internal code # is 997. So you will see something like, "the 2010 997 911 Turbo". Before that was the 996 (911), before that was the 993 (911), and before that was the 964 (911), and before that, the car we all know, with the huge whale tail, was the 930 (911).

The Cuope version of the 5 series is the 6 series, and there will be a another 6 series, so therefore there will be a another M5 and M6 as well.

It seems that BMW uses the 5 or 7 series to show the new direction of the company's design language

QFT,,,,wait till the m series x5 hits,we are seeing deisel x5's and 3 series, like i said earlier the 5 series GT has a similiar look to the x6 but smaller and about 10,000/15000 less in price.there is no recession prices or deals at bmw ,what u see is what u get.the cars are getting more expensive a 300 hp 135 is about 45,000 to 50000,so thats a bargain for a newer customer  :-\...

Yeah, that is way to high. And it's a good thing I heald off, because there are spy pics of a BMW 135 Tii or 135i M. WIth wheel flares, carbon roof, and M3 brakes and wheels. And this was in a factory caravan of  BMW 1 series, not some tuner. Take a look:

u want to save money and get bang for the buck .buy or lease a 335 with sport package sedan or coupe, there is a modification chip which will goose that car to almost 400 ponies, all for under 50,000.now your hanging with a new m3 and smoking an e46.a kid i work with had that mod for his 335 and now leased a new 135 and put it in there 2,,,it goes for both cars.

not to get too off track but say u have a 10,000 civic and mod it up to 20,000 to 30,000 its ok but crazy,,try doing that to bmw its already got the great suspension but u can mod and the rear, same with engine ,problem is the car whether bought or leased depending on model and yr ur starting at 40,000 before even getting started,e36,e46 you can get good prices m3,330,328,325,then u add.

I'm starting to see a lot more E46 M3's around town, non-modded. Which is good. E46 M3's are like Supras, its had to find one that hasn't been modded. And I like the E46 M3's look a lot better than the E90 M3. But that M3 GTS is the shit, too bad it's a Euro only model, again Americans get shafted.
