ive done 25reps with 315, i felt good and satisfied with myself for that

I'd say 315. I miss squatting heavy bad. There is really no feeling like it. We used to have free standing poles and that is all that I'd ever use. Someone asked me why I didn't use the cage or the racks once, and I said cuz if you know you'll get crushed if you fail then you won't. I got the old you're a fuckin looney look, but it made sense to me.
At 35, and with having had a torn ACL I'm afraid to even do them anymore. That being said, I'm going to give them a go soon anyway and see what happens. I don't see myself ever going as heavy as I use to, but if I can get back to around 275 or 315 for ten I would be happy with that.

100 x 20 isn't that bad either though.

Agreed. Doing 20 normal reps and 20 ass to the floor reps is completely different.

I'd done it with 315 back when i had the balls to squat like a man. Agonizing but a great feeling.
It was a struggle to walk form the gym to the car, luckily my training partner was driving. I started cramping up on teh walk from the car to my house!

Thats how you know you got a good leg workout. quad/hamstrings pulls/cramps are fuckin painful.

Starts about 1 minute in, takes a while to complete the 20, and visibly fucked after. Impressive for his height though, he's well over 6 foot, whereas Platz is what 5'8"? Platz is still more impressive, especially since he wasn't even a 'strong man', perhaps shows similarities in training though. Bummer that Marunde died doing these in his shed. Talk about squatting till you drop.

haha! Yeah, very evident by the responses! Most have been 315 x 20 ass to floor....as if EVERYONE can even handle 135 x 20 ATF...unbelievable! You monsters must train in Worlds Strongest Man gyms!

I never understood the whole "ass to grass" thing, you will only going to develop a big ass for the schmoes with that.
I started doing squats to parallel, maybe a little bit below parallel and my legs grew much more in size.

i usually do 900 for one rep thats all u need to stimulate growth

275 for ass to floor squats. 315 for parallel squats. With this being said, its easier for alot of people to go ass to floor cause the pop up at the bottom of the repititon and use their momentum to get up.
