This is the time of year i always take a few weeks off from the gym.
It seems Thanksgiving is the time where I say "fuck it" for a while until I feel like a piece of crap and then i go back. It is actually good for the body and i always come back strong and motivated.
Any of you fucking fairies taking a break as well?

Took my break last week and starting up again tonight with legs.
-
Nope, but because shit gets so busy this time of year I've missed more workouts than I'd like.
Tons of fat fucks and twinks in the gym these days. Everytime I go I feel like I need to take a Valium to put up with the fags.

Stop lying
No one starts up again with "legs" ;D
-
Every year, usually 3-4 weeks off from all lifting, just to give the body and the joints a break, it feels really good when you get back and start the climb back up!

It's not because I'm looking forward to legs,I just wanna get them outta the way!

I'm in week 2 right now and eating a giant bowl of Captain Crunch as i type this. Saturday will be 14 days no gym and eating whatever. I'll probably crack then and go back ;D
-
On vanity alone I can't. Just 2-3 days off and I feel skinny and my shirts get baggy.

It's all in your mind dude. you may "deflate" a little but you won't atrophy to a serious degree
I actually force myself to do it to let everything get a REAL break, not just a couple days. You gotta take your foot off the gas every now and again to put on serious size.

This is probably why I don't have serious size. Muscle dysmorphia getting the best of me :(

I really believe this to be true.
Every time i have taken an extended break(2-3 weeks) from the gym, i always came back stronger by the third workout.

no, i'm on my 3rd apple and green tea

I remember reading a study some time ago where they let a couple of people absolutely KILL their forearms.. they worked em out till complete failure and then measured how long of a recovery it took before they were back to their normal 1 rep max. The majority of them took several weeks.
-
two days off. seems like a vacation
-
Can't do it, my man. Got to at least get some running in.
Six packs go quick.
-
I took 10 days off in november, but it was only because i was really sick :'(
-
I tend to take 2-3 days off whenever everyone around me gets sick.
Working out does wear down the immune system. Suddenly giving yourself an unexpected break boosts immune system to fight off the bug trying to get you.
Maybe it's true... maybe it's just in my head, who knows. But I know it's worked great for me this year. Well, except for when that swine flu shit hit :(

i only lift between thanksgiving and christmas. take the rest of the year off, don't want to get too big.

I think it's true that it does weaken your immune system. Does for me, anyway.
It's good to tone it down or take a rest when getting sick.
Your body needs it.

Nope, this is the I actually grow...take advantage of the food. It is January-March when I used to avoid the gym...too many New Year's Resolutions idiots. They tend to die down by March
-
i haven't ...that' why i'm so bitchy :)
-
I started training lighter this week to give the joints a break
sucks but it has to be done
I'll take a week off in the holidays
-
Every 8 to 9 weeks I'll take a week off from lifting, however during this "off" week I swim every day, I find this to be very theraputic for my body, the swiming stretches out the muscles real well, keeps me tight, with zero impact on the joints..also I'll hit the jacuzzi for 20 mins a day as well, and I'll get a sports/deep tissue massage during this "off" week too. I've been doing this for a few years, can't recall the last time I took more then maybe a day or two completely void of some kind of physical activity.

You need more Vitamin C.... no, I'm serious, and this stuff is amazing btw.
you just add it to water, it has almost no calories and tastes great.
