Title: how many pairs of sneakers do you need?
Post by: Deadpool on November 30, 2009, 03:09:47 PM
I got a running pair (nice, too) but since I am doing the eliptical it doesn't matter

I have a crappy pair I wear around when I am off of work

I want a pair of split seconds wrestling sneakers to do MMA workouts

and I heard that plain ol chuck taylers were best for squats but I don't squat now

Chuck Taylors are strictly for contemporary look and fashion. There is no arch to your heel so it's not a shoe to be worn for athletic purposes these days. For heavy squats, get some Otomix weightlifting shoes. Worth the money.

The NBA players of the 60's and 70's that wore Chucks must have twisted their ankles on a nightly basis.

Proper weightlifting shoes will do you right. Some like Chuck T's because they are pretty flat and relatively inexpensive. If you aren't hardcore and your feet aren't incredibly screwed up, Chuck'll do it for you.

Well, I'm a sneakerphile and used to have a sub. to Sole magazine. I have 15 pairs of sneakers, like 4 pairs of Nike Air Rifts in different colorways. Reeboks, adidas sambas, nike air flight lites, air maxes, tuned air, Nike shoxs. And the most comfortable shoes of all time Air Prestos.
