You probably need the money, so I wouldn't quit if I were you.
Work there long enough to be eligible for unemployment and then have them fire you because you can't do the job properly. Don't come in late. Don't cop an attitude. Just stick it out until you're eligible. When you are, just start fucking up. Have them fire you. Then you are free. I recently stuck it out with a job for almost 8 months that I hated. I hated my boss. I hated my bitchy colleagues. I hated the salary and the location. I waited until I was eligible for unemployment and then I started making mistakes at work. They gave me a verbal warning. Then a written warning. Then a final warning. Then they fired me. I'm collecting unemployment now (eligible for 8 months). At the same time I'm working as a valet on the weekends, making cash money. Two paychecks bro. Can't complain.
I have realised that i can't fucking handle 9-5 office jobs. Just not for me. I need to be doing something active.........which is why fitness is a good fit for me. The army is also in the cards.Office jobs suck. Couple things that happen are; you end up getting caught up in the office gossip and drama, next thing you know your fired and you're like 'what the fvck just happened?'' Next, you just sit on your ass most of the time and get fat and miserable. (my girlfriend has an office job, she's back into her 'winter' clothes again. love her either way though)
No, the dream took an unexpected turn. I guess on the brightside i am still young. Ad i guess you just gotta be straight with yourself and if you don't like something.........don't do it.
lol, Seinfeld always has the answers.
How are they stacked? All it takes is listening to goals, and putting together a fitness program. People come, people go, some serious some not, as with any job in life.
You can make a career in fitness, but the odds are somewhat stacked against you. Have to just wait and see what happens i guess.....
I dunno know about the unemployment thing, danimal. I'm probably too proud to receive government handouts.
In regards to the odds being stackedagainst you in fitness, the fitness has terrible longevity rates. Around 80% quit within the first year. That doesn't mean you can't be good at it, but for most people it is a temporary job, rather than a career.Fuck fitness mate, you can make more $$ selling shit on Ebay then these fake ass trainers you see at fitness first.
Quicker, yeah mate thats pretty much what i'm gonna do. Just a matter of deciding exactly what it is i want to do..... ;D :-\

I could sell my body! :-Xbecome a cop.... they don't exactly work hard in sydney... plus free drugs to sell on the side!
ah well, shit happens.
I've always thought about being a cop. And the pay has increased a lot recently. Use to be pretty shit pay, and while it still isn't great, it's better.I think the main thing is to watch your own back in the nsw force now since everyone is out for themselves promotion-wise and lots of genuine kids get screwed over by the schemers who get in...
No, the current (dreaded) job is commercial property management.
Obviously having the qualification, getting a job in the fitness industry should be relatively easy. Just a matter of determining whether that is a suitable long term kind of job. Decisions decisions.....
hahah i was waiting for you to jump on this. Could be worse..........i could be a male nurse.
hahah i was waiting for you to jump on this. Could be worse..........i could be a male nurse.Nursing is a great job in the States, especially if you are an RN. You make great money, get to work wherever you want (there is a huge shortage), and will always be around women.

Unfortunately this time i am actually starting a serious thread. Been in the job 2 months now and hate it. There really isn't an element of the job that i enjoy. There are parts i dislike, and there are parts i hate. I dread going into work and find it hard to relax on the weekends as i know Monday is right around the corner.I'm in the same boat cant relax on weekends because of thinking about stuff I need to do on Monday. I have a high stress IT job the problem is I hate IT now and make to much to switch careers. I guess I need a rich woman.
I have pretty much made up my mind about what i will do, but was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and what they did/what their advice is.
Sincerely,
webcke :(

I am in the same boat as well. IT job, can't do anything else and make what I do. Well actually I like IT but I hate the people I support. If they were all IT people it wouldn't be so bad. I am putting all of my eggs in the "win the lottery" basket.X2 I forgot to mention the assholes I have to support in IT
I have realised that i can't fucking handle 9-5 office jobs. Just not for me. I need to be doing something active.........which is why fitness is a good fit for me. The army is also in the cards.YUP. Im the same exact way, BUT all the jobs ive had have allll been some type of i guess "on your feet, labor work". Im pretty much sick of, soo i wouldnt mind some kind of office job, dont know about know 9-5, maybe part-time.
I spent 14 years doing jobs that I didn't like...unloading trucks, delivering mail, putting up mobile homes, etc. Just have to stick it out and save your money until you're in the capacity to do what you likeSo Vince I know you cant survive on your website, so either you got money saved or you still have to some of the shitty jobs at least part-time.
How are they stacked? All it takes is listening to goals, and putting together a fitness program. People come, people go, some serious some not, as with any job in life.YUP. Thats the key right there, find something that you truly like doing and have a passion for. Even if your not makin millions from it.
You'll find a knack for something. Life changes all the time and money ain't everything if you ain't at least halfway enjoying what your doing.
I always thought this too, but unemployment is not paid by the government it is an insurance pool paid into by the employers. So basically you're taking money from the fucked up job that you hate still.....that should make you feel better about it.
As far as you situation goes, yes I was there recently. I worked for a large company here for five years in one of the most competitive industries there is doing sales. For the first 2.5 years I wouldn't say I loved it, but I at aleast was content with it and enjoyed it somewhat. The money was the best I've ever made and more than I thought I would make being that I don't have a degree.....for now at least. Anyway, we got a new president and things started changing a lot. The first sign of things to come was the head of sales support came down and started handing out a sheet to sign that basically said the commission plan was changeable at anytime. We were told that they simply needed to make sure that they had everyone's on file cuz they weren't sure if they did and that no changes were planned. ::) No bullshit, within 2 hours of the forms being collected we get an email saying that the goals had increased and the bonus was gone. And we all took it like little fuckin sheep. More changes were made with the usual corporate spin about how this was an opportunity to make the plan work for you, you can actually make more, and you should just be happy you have a job. >:( They started doing things to cut costs, and many of the decisions took away our ability to sign a lot of deals either from a competitively priced standpoint or from an inability to support the customers set up like our competitors could. Up until about a year and a half ago at least my immediate managers were cool, but then I got switched to this little micro managing turd that saw himself as a sales guru.....nevermind that he never had done sales. I was on FMLA already for a health condition, and then tore my ACL so I was missing a day or two a week going to appointments and he basically belittled me daily even though i'd still make goal that I wasn't committed. He sat me down and gave me a speech about how he went through hard times too. I asked him what they were and he tells me about how sad he was when his family moved here in high school, and how difficult his divorce was. I'm like did you just compare your divorce that you caused by fucking the girl in sales support and a move as a child to a life long disease??? I got up and walked out and basically ignored him from that point on praying that he'd can me. 6 months later he finally did. The great thing about my situation was that in between all this I signed a huge deal that payed a substantial amount, and the way our commission worked I got payed for working out, riding my mountain bike, taking a couple trips, and just relaxing for two months. 8) I didn't file for unemployment until I actively started looking for work about two months later, and to be honest once I did I got pretty scared. There wasn't shit out there I wanted to do. I was determined not to end up in a situation like that and what you're going through again so I was picky. After four months of looking I was starting to think I wouldn't have a choice though. Then I got a call from a friend that he had given my name to someone and it panned out. I start at the end of the month, and think it will be something I really enjoy.
OK, so there's the background...sorry so long. Now for the advice. I've learned like you that a big corporate culture/ typical cube bitch is not for me. I also learned that a manager can have an enormous impact on your job happiness even in sales where you essentially write your own check. In the 2.5 years of it being bad I made a lot and saved a lot which allowed me to be in a better position than most while unemployed. The price for that was gaining 40lbs, developing high blood pressure and SVT, lot's of sleepless nights, bouts of depression, and absolutely dreading going to work everyday. The trade off is not worth it bro. You need to cover your own ass though so as another person said suck it up till you qualify for unemployment and then get yourself shown the door while looking for something now. If you don't find something b4, take time after that to figure out what you would really enjoy doing, and pursue it til you get the interview, PREPARE your ass off for it and nail it.
If you made it through all of that you really are unhappy in your job :P Best of luck to ya in finding something better that makes you happy!
Unfortunately this time i am actually starting a serious thread. Been in the job 2 months now and hate it. There really isn't an element of the job that i enjoy. Before this, make an effort to have people start calling you T-Bone.Thats what I'm talking I sit in a damn office all day with phones ringing people talking it gets old after awhile, that being said I wouldnt want to be a roofer or hanging off high beams either, problem is I have material things I dont want to give up so its hard to drop it all and do something you like for way less money.
Jobwise I mostly hated working in an office. I would prefer to try to work for myself w/me as the only employee and do manual labor such as landscaping/mowing/snow-removal or something like massage therapy. Much less stress than working in an office with people :P
Maybe you should go to massage therapy school webster

fuck the dole mate, just look for another job while your receiveing a wage frm these guys.
P.S dont get fired, you may need a reference from them..

I can’t believe I’m admitting this, ;D but I agree with “Venom” Vince.X2 Vince has the guts to at least do what he likes. Although we all give him hell here
Many people’s jobs are a means to an end.
You can either bust your ass so you can party hard on the weekend, or you can save up enough that will allow you to pursue something better – like relocating or investing $$ in a bigger (well thought out) venture.
The problems occur when the stresses of your job affect you when you’re not even there.
This happens to a lot of people, and depending on the person, it can cause some serious problems down the road that may require therapy, medication, and… uh… "self-medication."
You're too young for that bullshit, dude.
I'm surprised they let you view this.
I guess that's the way to avoid being sued for defamation?
Also to webcke, be careful what you have online that is accessible by anyone. We were going to call a guy for an interview but his twitter picture was so ridiculous (kind of funny actually but we were looking for someone who seemed a little more mature ;D ) that he was out of the running as soon as we saw it.
Very true. I’m not inclined to research this sort of thing (who has time to play online detective?) but two of my staff did that with some of our job candidates, printed what they found, and shared it with the rest of us. In one case, we eliminated someone based on this information. It wasn’t necessarily horrible, but we were looking for a way to winnow the field and the online stuff we found was a good excuse to do so.
Bay, may I ask what (in very vague terms) line of work are you involved in?
I'm a muscle escort pimp! ;DLMAO I knew it ;D

I got a new job that paid double what I was making prior, but I hated it. I stuck it out for about 3 months then quit. I was constantly feeling ill, depressed and tired. Several times on my commute to work I almost took an exit to turn around and go home and never go back to work. But eventually I did hand in my resignation and I did not regret it at all.

I have realised that i can't fucking handle 9-5 office jobs. Just not for me. I need to be doing something active.........which is why fitness is a good fit for me. The army is also in the cards.you know what, once you get a more "active" job, you will regret your 9-5 office job. Been there, done that. how old r u anyway.
I kinda discussed it with them today. They are somewhat dissapointed as commercial real estate, provided you are "good" at it, can be a fairly well paying, long term kind of career. But if you don't like something, it's unlikely you will be very succesful in it.you ve got to have huge social/communication skills to be a GOOD trainer... Lots of psychology is required especially with female clients.
You can make a career in fitness, but the odds are somewhat stacked against you. Have to just wait and see what happens i guess.....
Leave on a high note like in seinfeld.life isnt a sitcom for fuck sake. Quit watching tv and imitating the fictional characters in them.
get packed up and ready to leave...wait until you tell a joke that gets everyone laughing, then walk out and never be seen again.

So Vince I know you cant survive on your website, so either you got money saved or you still have to some of the shitty jobs at least part-time.
I can appreciate not liking a job, been there done that, but don't quit until you get something else lined up.
if you think you are unhappy now, wait until the cash starts running out or things start to get tight.
you might regret the loss of income, even if you do have unemployment insurance or something similar in your country.
Why am I not surprised ::)
When going for a job interview you need to cancel/suspend any fucken Twitter or Facebook shit you have.
Caliber Fitness brings in enough revenue for me to pay my bills but you need to realize that I also have 11 other websites as well that bring in good revenue as well....... :)Damn Vince you havent been telling us, are they porn sites?

Then you weed those people out. Last year we weeded out the "flakes" that wouldn't commit or take their training seriously. I would say we "fired" about 25-30 clients that we're just taking up a spot. We also changed policy and put expirations on their sessions (ex; if they baught 12 sessions they have to be used within 6 weeks) I should have done that long ago. We are also particular who we take on as clients and interview if they are serious about training and following our system of training. In other words....just don't take anyone who walks through the door. Their progress is a reflection of the trainer.i think he is talking about 80% of trainers in australia quitting within a year... webcke?

Plenty of people went completely broke betting on Forex. Stupid advice IMO
unless you made millions of euros on the forex? ::)
I know Webcke is the personal trainer of both Dennis Wolf and Jay Cutler, so this must provide him with a substantial income, even though he does not like his job.LMAO ;D
I know that both Jay and Dennis are very motivated to train and also sexually aroused when Webcke calls them "huge Caucasian bastards with muscles" in the locker room when they are all in the sauna (no homo)
I have 3 houses, a rental house, my mom's house and my house all I can say. I guess I went for the American Dream which turned into a nightmare.
lol:D :D :D :D
Why the fuck would anyone who can use the internet, read books, and has some semblance of discipline EVER pay someone like webcke more than $15-$20 an hour? I mean nowadays it's retarded to hire a personal trainer for $50+ an hour. Especially some 20 year old has no prior history of anything. I'd pay some 35-55 year old guy or girl who knows what it takes to really get into tip top shape, has some sort of background. Webcke? Has nothing. So $15-$20/hr is more than enough as a personal trainer. These idiots that spend $100/hr on personal training? LMAO!
I know a whore that did a personal training course and now she travels the world with this rich fuck making like $100 an hour and living the dream. I don't think she really works at all. Just occasionally sucks the old guy's dick. Fucking living the dream (minus the dick sucking)X2 goes on all the time
Who changed Webcke's name to webcake?
Haha. The boy was born to bake.
