for once I will be there to protest and not get reamed by a judge.
-
I went down there and go there around 30 minutes early it was about 39 degrees and raining lightly. I parked the car and walked over to the WTC site for a silent moment. Thats about two blocks from the Court House. Walking towards the court house, I saw about 100 people called the Staten Island Tea Party marching towards the court House. I hooked up with them and followed them to Foley Square.
We got to the Court House and there were probably a few thousand people and some funny signs. They set up a stage right across from the court house where KSM will be tried. i tooks some pics for those who have never been here to show what it looks like. The MC, Steve Malzberg, is a good radio host in NYC.
The speakers were really good. The best one was a former employee of Cantor Fitz. and another lady who lost her brother in 9/11. Andrew McCarthy, the prosecutor who tried the Blind Sheik and 93' bombers of the WTC was also good. Brian Dennehy read a letter from Daniel Pearles' family which was good.

Standing there on the steps of the Federal Court House in NYC and walking by the pit of the WTC this morning, where I am a few times a month at least, it really hit me what a complete disaster this decision is by Obama and Holder.
The anger is really brewing out there because of this garbage.
-
Wish you guys had busted in, grabbed KSM, drug him out and hung him there in the streets.

I dont think he is in holding yet.
There were some really good signs there.
The saddest of all were people walking around with signs with pictures of family members who were killed in 911.
I couldnt help myself but tear up seeing these people and knowing what they must be feeling inside with this garbage.
-

Yeah?
Imagine if that guy who rape and killed those girls in Iraq was dragged out in the street and hung for all to see? How would the world be condemning the mob?
In some ways the mentality is no different here than over there.

Maybe you didn't know it, but I'm a Muslim, originally from Iraq.

Cool, but i don't see how that relates to my post.

I'm just joking, I was equating my self to the Muslims in the Middle East who do things like I suggested everyday.

Hooooooooooly shit, we'd be ballistic.
The way I see it, anyone who gave Bush a vote cannot be mad that Obama did this. Bush had 5 years to prosecute and hang these guys. He had time to go on vacation and make cute videos looking for WMD under couch cushions - but not to prosecute the mastermind behind 911 huh?
Ya don't like how the lib is doing it, but it's gotta sting to realize this lib Obama (although he's doing it wrongly) is prosecuting the bad guys - AND BUSH DID NOT.

Nonsense. I will give you a detailed response later on this, but that is pure crap. There is zero jusitification for this.
-
I just wish bush would have prosecuted KSM. I haven't heard a single simple answer why he didn't.
Of catching and killing bad guys was his #1 priority, why did he make the time to make funny videos and play golf - when these guys were still sitting unprosecuted?
Why didn't he prosecute? I just want a simple answer.

No, you've yet to provide any justification for putting them on trial. You've just made the assumption that this must be done. Why?
If a conviction is guaranteed as Holder keeps pushing, then that in and of itself undermines any credibility of a fair trial.
If a conviction is not guaranteed and these guys are acquitted, Obama's not going to free them anyway. So again, any credibility of a fair trial is undermined.
So why even bother?
-
"No, you've yet to provide any justification for putting them on trial."
Well in that case... BUSH failed to secure enough evidence on the bad guys.

240 - Hear me out. you are not a lawyer and have no idea about the issues at play.
When soldiers are on the battlefield they are not going about their business with the thought that:
1. Federal Rules of Evidence must be adhered to.
2. They have to give miranda warnings to people in custody.
3. Preserving evidence for trial.
4. That there is a presumption of evidence.
5. That the guilt is going to have to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
6. That their methods and intel will turned over in discovery disclosures to defense counsel.
7. That witnesses and CI's will be disclosed to defense counsel.
As to other matters, perhaps Bush did not prosecute KSM because he already wanted to plead guilty and there is no need for a trial in the first place!
Finally, there is absolutely no reason for a trial in civilian court considering this was an act of war. They bombed the Pentagon, the Cole, Khobar Towers, etc, so to say it was simply a civilian attack it simply false.
I have not heard one good reason for this, not from Holder, Obama, none of the libs, and certainly not from anyone on this board.
-
'As to other matters, perhaps Bush did not prosecute KSM because he already wanted to plead guilty and there is no need for a trial in the first place!"
So what other option9s) did Obama have?
Just to keep him locked up? Is that it? If so, that's a steaming shit pile to leave Obama to inherit.

1. Let him plead guilty in a MT.
2. Try him in a military tribunal.

'1. Let him plead guilty in a MT.

So for the 100th time...
Why didn't Bush let him please guilty in a military trial, and why didn't bush try him in a military tribunal?
(My belief is that the usable evidence isn't there - they admitted he said nothing until they waterboarded)
-
This guy spoke yesterday and was very good.
-

-
240, you are absolutely wrong. We can and should be appauled that Obama & Holder are forcing this into civilian court. The logic is overwhelming why this is a bad idea.
Separately, Bush made a mistake in not forcing a prosecution in military tribunal in his 2nd term (after they got the intell).
Both bad decisions IMO.
We can't people separate Bush's mistakes from Obama's mistakes??
-
333, if I was in NYC, I would have joined you. Forcing a civilian trial in NYC is so f-cking stupid. It's all about the leftist agenda to reverse the Bush/Cheney treatment of terrorist prisoners.

U.S. trial unlikely for 9/11 suspect Mohammed: report Sat Nov 13, 2:21 am ET
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11, 2001, attacks probably will remain in military detention without trial for the foreseeable future, The Washington Post reported on Saturday, citing Obama administration officials.
The administration has concluded that it cannot put Khalid Sheikh Mohammed on trial in federal court in New York City because of opposition from members of Congress and local officials, the Post said.
There is also little support within the administration for a military prosecution at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, over concerns it would alienate liberal supporters, the paper reported.
Mohammed was captured in Pakistan in 2003 and has been imprisoned at Guantanamo.
The administration asserts that it can hold Mohammed and other accused al-Qaeda operatives under the laws of war, a principle that has been upheld by the courts when Guantanamo detainees have challenged their detention.

Maybe it's not about protesting at all? Maybe it's for the same reason Bush didn't put him on trial either?
Maybe Obama's camp looked at the trouncing they took in the mid terms, and decided that with so much controversy, ...even with a conviction, they'd never see a 2nd term, ...or worse... without usable evidence, there stands a chance of acquittal? Maybe they felt they needed to get a few thousand more combat ready troops out of Afghanistan and back into the states to maintain order when the poop hits the fan in the event of an acquittal. Better to just throw him on ice indefinitely, and let someone else deal with the hot potato?

Cuomo, Schumer, Peter King, Bloomberg, all are greatly against this.

Im thoroughly glad I did.

I'm have been keeping it real from day one against this horrible Admn!
You bitches have me partially to thank for smacking the shit out of the bama admn on this. Thats' fine, I would do it again every day if possible to reverse the course of this disgusting traitor you morons voted for.

Precisely.
Nobody here can answer why he wasn't prosecuted in the 2nd Bush term, why he wasn't allowed to plead guilty. Can't they just let him keep bouncing around til he hangs himself or soemthing?

I heard a long thing on this morning on he radio. Apparently KSM wanted to plead guilty but there were a bunch of do gooders who jammed it up in the system on legal issues. I'll try to get the interview later.
Either way - I'm glad Obama/Holder, piss be upon both of them, got smacked the shit out of on this.
-
i'm betting 2 years from now, this is sitll not resolved.
Nobody wants his ass talking. There was a level of "in bed with" al-Q long beyond 1997...

BUMP
I met Burlingame at this rally. She was one of the main speakers as her brother died on 911.
For this pofs obama to turn his back on her strikes a new low for this asshole. Fuck him and fuck you whoever still supports this admn.

I never wake up in the morning and say "Hey, I bet 33 is softening up on obama today!"
