Do you think one of those is ok for one of the 6 meals or do you try to avoid them? Same question with the premixed protein shakes that come ready to drink. I have one box of bars that claims 32 g protein / 400~ calories and others that are 20 g protein / 200~ calories.
Thanks great responses

Protein bars = GARBAGE

Which bars are you talking about, whats the name? Al ot of them are not the greatest choice but they could work in a pinch.
Depends on what you are trying to accomplish too. If you are trying to burn fat then I say drop them. If you have a quick metabolism, can pretty much eat anything and not gain fat, then they might be ok to use.

the owner of a local sports nutrition store told me to skip bars because they contain glycerin as a rehydrant, basicaly the glycerin bonds to the macronutrents and renders them undigestible, keeping in mind the store sells many diffrent types of bars i belived her because she had nothing to gain by telling me this.
weather or not you lose all the macronutrent values to glycerin i dont know, its something to look into IMO.

just eat food, oatmeal, whey and milk in a shaker would be better than a bar, and about 1/2 the cost.
