Without drugs you'll lose mostly muscle on extreme diets.  Think of all the work you did to make gains before you shit it away.  Diets take time.

4600 cal/day loss.  You can't be for real.

Oh its possible, but do you want to do it the right way or the wrong way. What do think the chances are of at least 50% of that weight coming back are?

Here's an example. One of my fighters Jay Silva got his first UFC fight a couple of months ago against CB Dollaway. His fight before that was August 15, he won that fight. After 3 weeks of not doing shit (against my wishs) he blew up to 215..he fights at 185. He calls me from NY saying he's just got his first UFC fight......8 days from when he called me. He takes a red eye back that night. I had to have him drop 30lbs in 8 days, he made weight but was it the right way? Hell no, even though he lost fight by decision by one point due to take downs, Dollaway on the other hand had to be carried out, have 37 stitches abouve his eye and IV's. Jay came out unscathed but totally gasses from dropping to much weight to fast in a dangerous way. Follow me?

2-3lbs per week at the most until you reach your goal. For you, portion controlled, 2or3-1 carb to protein ratio low in fats. No secrets, don't get technical just be smart.

whats with the ratio then if its all about not being smart?

your better off reversin that ratio to limit insulin

but lets get real here ===> calorie deficit........though you say the same thing, ie portion control

entirely possible. you just need will power.

first eat nothing but protein every day, no carbs or fats except 2 teaspoons of healthy essential fats a day.

also you will need a good multi vitamin+minerals - i'd recommend 2-4 a day.

this will work trust me - it worked for me.

Gino, if you control your portions there is no need to drop carbs. People have been so damn scared of carbs thinking that you have to drop carbs to drop weight, that's rediculous. If insulin is a concern just use lower GI carbs.

Qft.  I couldn't workout for shit on low carbs, no power (well...compared), no endurance, definitely lost muscle without anabolic help.  Sex drive was less than 1/day as well.  Fuck that.

Moderated bloodsugar, no glycogen loss.  Good plan for cal debt.

Maybe for some but I crave hard with low carbs and get, shall we say, 'discontented.'  It's easier for me to maintain a moderate cal debt with slow burning, cal sparse, high volume foods, and my drive is still there for workouts.

On the other hand I still think 1 lb/wk of true fat loss , week after week with no loss in strength or drive, is impressive.

WTF?

If you have an overweight football player as an example training 5 days per week doing 2 a days......are you going to actually have them follow that??????

I said if he wanted to do it RIGHT!!

first: nice 7 post meltdown.

second: what is right in your opinion? if he can lose fat at the maximum possible rate, while keeping health at perfect levels whats the problem ??

third: i was unaware we were discussing an overweight football player. If we were, yes i would do things differently by adding pre workout carbs too, and before you ask low gi carbs would not be high on my agenda  ::)

fourth: If he decides he wants to keep working out, he can, but obviously it won't be volume workouts.

fifth:
You must of missed the part where I said "if insulin is a concern".

insulin is irrelevant  ;D

you'd be in big trouble if you lost that much weight that quickly, besides it's pretty much impossible unless you starve yourself. The only thing close to that I heard was Lee Preist who dropped 50lbs in 10 weeks to prepare for the Olympia and looked like absolute dogshit finishing in 15th place, smooth as all hell. cant be done im afraid mate.

ill try find the pics of that olympia to proove my point.

??? so you think his body will just shut down ? his thyroid will bounce back within a week. exercise will still stimulate it too. He'll probably be feeling great due to the detox effect, and have energy and strength will be through the roof once the carbs are added back.
