With the only choices being Bush or Obama I can liken this to the choice of being boiled in oil or burned at the stake. In short this is NO CHOICE AT ALL!!!! I think you guys in america would do better with no president at all. It will give you time to sort things out and discover what direction YOU want to go in as opposed to someone else making decisions that at best will make matters even worst.

At least Obama doesn't always say, "my faith in Jesus Christ will pull us through this". that was very annoying.
Obama is at least intelligent, he just needs to grow some F*ning balls. Tries to please to many, and in the end he pleases no one.

When I was putting the poll together I concluded I'd want neither of them, so i put the option there, in a brief flash of denseness ;D This poll shows a general dislike for the last 2 presidents. If you feel you want an "either or" poll, then there's one for that too on another thread.

To answer the question about the poll, hands down I would rather have what the final months of November and December 2008 with "potus" #43 until a January 20th of 2009 when "potus" #44 obviously began his term. The differences between this next December of 2009 to the final month of 2008 during the previous December before Christmas during the countdown to 1/20/09 is so distinct and defining that I would describe this next year 2009 from each seasonal shift as distinctly a short-lived next year that makes the words "leap year" come to me in a different way from what a leap year is called.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the other option that was there. I didn't really see the point in Hedge's flipout over that and the starting of a new poll. Nobody is actually forced to vote so why make a poll like that? The other option just shows the number of people that would have not voted or voted for a third party. It was interesting and says something, the number of people that looked at Obama vs. Bush and said fuck that I'm going other. Now neither poll shows that.

No, it originally started with the American people. First and foremost. In order to fix this mess, we need to step back, and basically rebuild---cut the fat so to speak. Acknowledge the fact that we as a whole effed up. And ho we effed up, then never again do it. Sure there were policies, but we didn't decry those policies, we never let our voices be heard. People care more about Obama birth cert. than millions protesting in washington what the financial institutions did or the war. Hell, there were more Latinos protest the Imigration reforms than average citizens protesting what our government policies have done. There is no real discussion of what we done to ourselves. Fat, Lazy, Lack of Gumption, Always the Victim, Never Taking Responsibility, AMERICANS. Until we realize what we'v become, then we will continue to fall. We can blame every president back to Washington if you want, it still doesn't change where we are.

Obama would not have been voted into office had he given his Copenhagen speech on the campaign trail. He basically told everyone war and opression is a fact of life and that we have to get used to it for it would not change in our lifetimes. Any sane person would know that this is a bullshit statement made by the representative of an opressor.
I also like how they are now saying deflation is a bad thing and we need inflation. A couple of months ago they were saying the opposite. Look at the computer and electronics industry. Prices keep falling and the quality of the products keep improving. That's free market principles at work. And people are buying computers and electronics by the millions. And now the government is saying this is a bad thing we need inflation. It is better if prices go up.

That won't be enough. You would have to stop giving your money to corrupt politicians as well. And all the goverment workers (teachers, police, city workers etc.) receiving healthy pensions. Spoke with a cop today that is 47 and almost ready for retirement. He is looking at 100,000s of dollars in retirement funds.
Also all these bankers getting huge bonuses. That is an industry in USA. Where the chinks have REAL industry like making electronics, computers, clothes, building fasteners, tools (milwaukee tools) we have a financial industry built on a ponzi scheme. The money floating around is fake and based on USA consuming chink products.
If you think the US stopped providing "aid" to other countries would stop the debt you are living in a dream world.
Let's continue - stop the wars. It is expensive as hell. $400 for a gallon of gas in Afghanistan!
