Title: How much does it cost to produce 1 kg (2.2) lbs of protein?

Just the manufacturing cost. Just curious. Here in australia the cheapest i have seen it is $25 a kilo and $30 kilo WPI

It depends what kind of protein.  Casein, Egg, Hydro, Whey, Soy.    In terms of whey, there are different kinds,  WPI90, WPI80, WPI70, and even less than that, some being a protein blend too.  Obviously WPI is the highest cost, and they go down substantially from there.

By the way, rumors are that protein prices are on the way up, as well as GRAPE flavoring (for some reason, the flavor grape is more expensive than other flavoring)

I have tasted a fruit mango WPI. By some new zealand company. Was great. I wonder
What they do with the milk once its used to extract the whey? Like do they sell it back minus the whey? So that means somewhere there is some guy drinking milk for the 20 percent whey even though it could have no whey.
