Title: have you ever bought a car out of state, from overseas?
Post by: MB_722 on December 19, 2009, 04:01:23 PM
I don't know if I can do it.

I'd like to see it, get it inspected by someone.

you ever done it? would you, what would you do so you're not getting a lemon.

I'm looking for some old cars, but I don't trust people.

if you feel funny about a deal...its probably because its a funny deal. Trust your instincts, and never buy a car sight unseen.

used to buy gray-market cars back in the early 80's.  Made a ton of money.  Could buy a new Countach for around $75,000 and after doing the EPA and DOT retros we were in it for about $93,000 or so and sell them in a heartbeat for over $120,000 to $140,000.  Great money till ther clamped down on them.  Dealerships were bad mouthing the cars by saying no warranties were given.  Alot of work for the shop to do the conversions but it was worth it.  Glass, doors, bumpers, even the exhaust had to be converted.
