Zoellick (President of the World Bank) noted that those who had recognised the scale of today's crisis were calling for new global governance regimes.

"If leaders are serious about creating new global responsibilities or governance, let them start by modernising multilateralism to empower the WTO, the IMF, and the World Bank Group to monitor national policies," Zoellick said. The huge banks and corps love global govt because it will save them a ton of money on accountants, lawyers, regulatory compliance, etc. 

Who cares if the average guy has a boot on his throat right?
