You will start seeing this alot more in the future. Regular everyday people who are unemployed and no longer receive unemployment if they ever got it in the first place resorting to crime. Most people would do anything to take care of their kids if not themselves and when you have no other options and you're desperate you might make a very foolish decision.
I know one thing, that guy was no junkie and by the looks of it has no experience in theft.
fixed

At a card convention show, Dudes were too busy guarding more valuable mickey mantel or jackie robbinson cards to worry about that one, i feel bad about it now, but at the time i was a thrill, until my dad caught me stealing this ninja star at a supermarket when i was 13, and tore half my ass off that night with a leather belt, never stole shit again, til this day im afraid to wear a belt :(

i agree!!! i have soo many friends who made good money b4 like 60-100k/yr n the wife worked to. losin their jobs n then losin their houses!!!! n they always seem to have a couple of little kids!! n they move in with other familys or with mom n dad.. n even with unemployment and all the extensions...there are like 3000 people appyling for jobs that used to be considered average, and u can only apply online with no personal contact to try and talk urself into a job...so that is super frustrating so u will see more n more of this shit as time goes on n people become desperate..imo!! this shit is just begining,, the WORST is yet to happen ...pretty soon they will have to impose martial law to stop all the stealing in bigger cities where its already like 14% unemployment n the REAL UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS ARE CLOSER TO 30%!!! SHOCKING I KNOW wait n see this shit is gonna be epic!!! merry xmas huh sad!!
-
you're either a stealer or a non-stealer a bad economy wont make a non-stealer a stealer and a good economy wont make a stealer a non-stealer unless the stealer was also a stealer before the good economy which would mean he was a stealer in a bad economy too

The recession has yet to hit here, if it ever will.
Manitoba and Saskatchewan have quite strong economies still, and it's not terribly difficult to find well paying full time employment. My own biz is adding new customers weekly and we have customers queued for months.
Sucks to be the rest of the world.
