Joint was tight.
-
If he was able to make that for $300 he's worth $30M to the movie companies just for the amount of cash he'll save them on production.
-
how can he do that for 300 dollars? Is it computer generated? I know nothing about these things
-
dude is talanted...
most movie crews are dumb fucks i say this because i had a role once and most people are just standing around waisting budget money and not being creative, too much staff usually when most of the shit can be done by a smart computer person
-
i hate going to the movies, but I might go see that one.
-
effects look on par with that alien movie that had keenu reeves in it. Kid has got some skill.
-
all drugs and computer animation
-
why cant the the hollywood studios just copy his film? is it copyrighted? prob not
-
That was amazing! It looked like a trailer for a big budget hollyweird movie....for 300 :o
It's a shame that idea was wasted on an internet clip, cuz it would've been fantastic to see what he came up with for a full storyline. Loved how the last robot turned into a massive bomb.....very cool 8)
So who signed him to the deal?

You gotta be shitting me?
That was fucking awesome. A hyped up Avatar spends $500 mil, this guy makes something this cool for $300? :o
-
And Hollywood will ruin that talent.

Avatar is the next generation of movie making.
James Cameron had to make some of the cameras himself in order to shoot it.
It truly is a technological breakthrough of epic proportions that may not be evident to the average everyday movie goer, ...but to technical crews, it's a whole other story. Incredible accomplishments were achieved with avatar.
-
The one thing I noticed, if it is a Alien invasion, chances are they wouldn't use missles a...and we wouldn't use 1950's airplanes to fight off the enemy.

Photoshopped.
-
epic virus marketing.
-
awesome video, $35Mil is alot of money, but i bet he couldve made much more if he used the Transformers robots and made a trailer like that for Transformers 3.
-
Maybe he made it for $300 but that doesn't include the costs of all the equipment he used.
lol. just fucking kill yourself hahaha.
Dude just pretty much "crushed" hollywoods 300 million dollar budget with a 300$ video, (maby he pre owend the camera, didnt pay salary to the people he used, already owned all the software etc etc etc etc)
And you're complaining about how he didnt count in the one camera he was using? hahahahahahaha.
Ofc its a little bit more then 300, but its kinda like the retards when layne norton deadlifts 700 pounbs with a double overhand grip and some tard comes in and scream
"But hes using hook grip!!!!!!!!!!"
lol!
what else do you want him to count in? maby the food he was eating during the editing process? maby the shoes he used when he walked around filming?
hahahahaha.
That was fucking amazing.
-
wonder how many hours it took to make and edit all that

Don't all of you fags start uploading your YT videos at once...

epic virus marketing.
epic truth. This is all bullshit marketing to drum up interest in a guy no one knows. As if you can post a random video without any marketing and have movie execs "stumble" on your video while searching you tube. Just like how most getbiggers stumble upon tranny or gay videos they post here.

When he's not busy intimidating co-workers or ripping his baby Gap shirts from fattening carbing up, he's busy telling Getbig that he knows anything and everything.
Good for that guy. Youtube strikes again.

If I wasn't too busy warming up my third tupperware of brown rice and boiled chicken I'd reply to your nonsense post

If you go his youtube channel you'll see that he actually posted a previous version which was shorter about 3 years ago.

While it is brilliant work for a semi amateur production, the cost in manhours, equipment and software will likely be in the tens of thousands. It still is exceptional value for money.

only if he bought that software and equipment especially for this work.

No he had the software to do some virtual home decorating! You buy 3D animating software to do this kind of work, most likely he used post-processing software and editing software.
Hardware: he had no strict schedule so no need for lots of processing power, low resolution also decreases the amount of processing power needed per frame. This does not fly in a commercial hollywood production with a strict schedule. It's not a one on one comparison.
Actors: friends, art-school students etc. no need to pay them or provide lodgings, food etc.
Outdoor footage, often cheaper. Inside you need gaffers, screens, etc etc etc.
There's so much more to a big production, in terms of logistics. A small production like this is always much much cheaper because it doesn't have the huge overhead of all kinds of support staff ( and an expensive cast).
-
He should have made a whole movie.
-
He didn't necessarily have to pay for his 3D animation modeling software. There are plenty of cracked copies of Lightwave, Maya, 3DSMax, ZBrush etc... It's illegal though and doubtful that this director went that route.
That said, claiming that is is a $300 movie is RADICALLY deceptive and probably said more for publicity reasons.
-
The one thing I noticed, if it is a Alien invasion, chances are they wouldn't use missles a...and we wouldn't use 1950's airplanes to fight off the enemy.
Well, it is set in South America.

Very true...If you look at the ending credits, he had quite a few people working on this...It even lists food catering...
-
He is a filmmaker ,he is not a bum that went to Best Buy bought some software and started making movies. ::)
-
epic virus marketing.
You mean viral marketing, as in viral video. That's not what it is, because he's not marketing anything in the video. It's a viral video, but marketing has absolutely nothing to do with it.
-
I understand that he isnt including the costs of his pc, the software or his camera, its likely the people worked for free just to be in some kind of movie. But without the time constraints of a typical movie I could make that movie on my pc, obviously I dont have the talent but just saying I do have the hardware to do it.PC processing power overtook software a couple of years ago, I dont think most people realise just how powerful the New I7 line from Intel is, and they can be had for peanuts.

LOL!
