micro oven for 6 minutes. Now I wonder if I just ate it raw or if it was cooked? It was not like mashed potatoes, more like some tough porridge, isn't this surprising? You would think it be like mashed potatoes? Anyone can explain this, how long should it be cooked? Thanks.

I'd speculate that the starch matrix which encapsulates the potato's water remains intact through conventional preparation (boiling, then mashing or milling), but blending disrupts the starch complex enough to release that water and give you a soupy puree. Blending or overprocessing a boiled potato will yield a similarly gluggy, unappetizing bowl of snot. In short: you're doing it wrong.
