How do you think he would have done at the Olympia that year? 2nd ahead of Gaspari? Gaspari was ripped but did not have good proportions.

Always wonder if Dorian had turned pro in 1986 (like he should have) what would have happened. 1998 2nd? Maybe he would have had a better back by 1991 by going against Haney earlier on and could have been better than him.
-
Actually in 86 Dorian shouldn`t have really been in the British Champs,he only qualified because of some "manipulation" by Ron Davies, who was the EFBB president at the time. And Ron got a sore head a few months later for his actions.

pics or it didnt happen. ;D

Had Dorian entered the 1988 Mr. O in his British Nationals condition he probably would have placed 2nd behind Haney. He would have beaten Strydom (no back), De Mey (hard as nails but stringy looking) and probably also Gaspari (hard but narrow and with a greatly inferior structure to Dorian).

i dont think so because benaziza placed 11th at mr. olympia 88 then beat dorian 2 years later at NOC 90!!.. still i believe (from the video) benaziza was better than many guys in the top ten but he was just a "new comer" so most probably dorian was going to face the same treatment!!..

Well,Peter McGough can verify what happened,it was at his show that the "sore head" came about. To qualify for the Brits you had to win your class in qualifying shows during the year, and usually the heavyweights only had 1 or 2 competitors.Dorian entered a show in VERY smooth condition, and a mate of mine was entering the lightheavies, but he weighed a couple of pounds over the limit. So Ron Davies told him to go for a jog and try and lose the weight, because Dorian was ripped to shreds and he stood no chance against him in the heavies. So he did as he suggested, and ended up placing 2nd in the lightheavies, while Dorian was the only competitior in the heavies and smooth as hell.A few months later at the show that Peter was promoting and Ron was the head judge at,my mate turned up and kicked the hell out of Ron and was thrown out the place. ;D

Benaziza got the shaft at the Mr. O 1988 because he was very unknown. He could have easily placed top 6. Still... Benaziza improved tremendously until his 1990 NOC which was his best showing ever. I feel that the 1988 version of Dorian looked better than the 1988 version of Benaziza. I've no problem with Benaziza defeating Dorian in 1990 at the NOC because Benaziza looked absolutely unreal at that show. Also, given the fact that the Olympia usuallly favors taller guys with broad shoulders I'm positive that Dorian would have been placed ahead of Momo in '88.

yes may be but i mean it was hard to place him 2nd over "big names" in their best years like labrada, gaspari.. etc.. even if he deserved!!.. later by the 90s we saw new comers like levrone and wheeler who placed 2nd at their first olympia but after winning the AC and some other shows!!..
