If the name of the Gym is Elite Fitness, then you spelled it wrong.

none, it's too complicated, not clear enough. too many diff shapes and colors. It looks like a cryptic military insigna, not the logo of a gym.

text is almost unreadable, all you see are the confusing geometrical shapes... well it's a bad logo.

I know, logo might not be it. But he want to print it on clothes and stuff, have it up on the wall in the gym and on a screen outside the building etc...so I thought I will do it more like an artistic picture more than a boring logo.

I think this will be the end result.

1. Elit <> Elite
2. AF <> EF
3. If that's not an AF, then what is it other than some angled letter lookalikes and why is it in the logo.
4. I like the simplicity of the guy holding up the logo.

design what potential members want and are attracted by
not what attracts YOU

if not, it'll fail

Is this gym going to open up in America? If so, isn't there already someone with the name elite fitness gym? Or do they(you) believe you can simply leave out the e in Elite and get away from lawsuits? Next we will be hearing about someone opening up a gym called Gold Gym instead of Gold's Gym....

no.

Also how is a "elite fitness gym" suposed to appeal to the general / mainstream public and beginners  ::)  ???

Most customers will think it's only for "elite lifters" or worst, elite BODYBUILDERS  and will be discouraged from joining it...

Elite in swedish are spelled Elit, and its not AF its AA, the initial of the owners name Ahmad Ahmad, probably the best bodybuilder we got in sweden right now.

The #1 logo in the fitness industry is the Gold's Gym.  It is also one of the most recognizable logo in the world.  When they were at their peak the Gold's Gym brand name worldwide generated close to $2 billion.  That logo cost $50 and was drawn by Ric Drasin.

So the guy's ego is so big that he wants his initials in the logo, even though it means and conveys absolutely nothing to the consumer?

Another problem I see is Elite Fitness is confusing, every one in the fitness industy is "EliteSomeFuckingThing" .

I think Elite Fitness, I think:

1) EliteFTS/Elite Fitness Systems- Dave Tate's site.

2) EliteFitness- The Forum.

3) Crossfit's "Forging Elite Fitness ::)" slogan.

Etc...

If you must use it, I like # 3.

trying your best to please a client is one thing, to facilitate them making a fool of themselves is quite another.  this is a terrible idea for a design, and you are doing him no favors by going along with it.  in fact, it reflects on you as the designer extremely poorly, and comes across as novice work.

the focus point of the entire design is a meaningless abbreviation that tells the viewer nothing about what you are trying to get across, and even worse it does indeed look more like AF instead of the intended AA.  instead of being concise and explanatory as a logo should be, it only adds to the viewer's confusion.

the graphic work is not bad, however the concept is ill thought out.

logo design can be tricky if you start staring at it too much...you have to go with the one that instantly communicates the moment you look at it. which is number 3. If you have to contemplate it, version 2 and 1, no matter how clever you think it is, it fails as a graphic design. THe communication has to be instant.
