no idea. its an anomaly.
Some will play the race card and say black qb's dont get their shot, who knows. I just hope their wont be a "rooney rule" for starting qb's in the nfl.

you could go the other way and say that in general black football players are more athletic than white football players and that they generally get pushed towards positions that require more athletic ability. Receivers, defensive backs, running backs, line backers etc...

I would agree with that 100% if blacks were a minority in the nfl and were dominant in skill positions only. But blacks have like a 2/3 majority in the nfl. They're everywhere on rosters.

People always asked me that when i first moved to Tampa. 8) When i went for a job interview, that was the question that was always asked. 13 years that question has been asked. :D I forgot that his rookie year was in Tampa. 8)

As for your question, the simple answer is that there's hardly been enough black NFL QBs, let alone ones on teams that are perrenial Super Bowl contenders.

Lets cut thru the bullshit.....the vast majority, not all, of black QB's don't translate to the NFL because they rely way too much on pure athletic ability in college instead of reading defenses properly, etc.... and there are white examples too....namely Heath Shuler. the guy was a fantastic natural athlete in college and it carried him to the NFL, but he was "too dumb" to learn the playbook and analyze NFL defenses at a fast enough pace...so his career was a bust.
There have been plenty enough black QB's to make a comparison, and the only ones with sustained success play the position "white" for lack of a better term. They read the defense and make the proper throw instead of tucking the ball and running everytime their primary receiver is covered. That works in college where they are vastly superior athtletically to 80% of the guys on defense, but not in the NFL where most defensive players are on the same level athletically. Vick never learned it, and was a marginal NFL QB at best, with a highlight reel run every 3 or 4 games that would be played to death on ESPN.

I lost love for Doug when he went to the Skins. I argue with the Skin fans that Dough may have finnished the Super Bowl over Denver but Shreider (mspld) won most of their games that year. Including that stuped scab game in Dallas. :'(
