I'm gonna preface this by saying I am a conservative and my fave network is Fox News.
Yet while watching many other TV shows etc. I always come across people jabbing Fox News as being "propoganda" and not real reporting etc etc.
I do agree that Fox is definitely a conservative outlet, but I don't think it is more conservative than other news outlets like MSNBC are liberal.
When I think of the most "spun" show on Fox, I think it def has to be Hannity. But when I watch Hannity its obv he has a Republican agenda, but he does so by stating a lot of facts.
Then when you compare that to shows on MSNBC like Olberman, Maddow, etc., it just seems like these guys are always on rants and grasping at straws. (ie. coverage of current Brown upset).
Some of the things these guys say are just ridiculous and not even based in factual circumstances.
And I guess the ratings would agree, FOX destroys these other outlets.
Just curious to your thoughts.

I think I have solved this mystery:
- Most young people are liberal
- Most GetBig posters ad young people
- Fox News is not liberal

Ooops I posted this on the wrong board.
As a Conservative, who are you going to blame for that mistake?

Because the multitude of mindless idiots watch Fox and believe everything, which leads to higher ratings. They use the stupid to boost their ratings like burgeoning networks (Fox back in the 90's, UPN,etc.) used "The Urban Market" to help grow their base...hope this helps.

As long as you keep an eye on your wallet A'dam is a pretty safe place. I lived there for a year in the center with the red light district around the corner. I never got into problems.
It's funny to see how Fox responded to this YT vid, here it is:
@4:17 "I don't care what happens in the Netherlands" This man is doing some selfowning. Furthermore, he doesn't understand a thing about statistics when he says that Neth is a smaller country (because all stats were percentages). This man is even dumber than cowboy Bush.

lmao
obama is an undercover terrorist :o ::)

it is pretty simple.. if you are liberal you will not like fox news.. if you are conservative you will not like cnn.. both have faults.. cnn was too biased to even run coverage of the ACORN scandal because they support ACORN.. they were finally "forced" too when the coverage of other outlets forced their hand.. fox news would not take much of BUSH to task.. so for anyone to say fox is worse than any of the others is silly.. but fox does have the ratings.. most of the country leans center/right.. so they will watch fox.. if ya look at the demographics fox also get the vast majority of independents.. cnn gets mostly left leaning populus.. which dont make up as much of the population.. hence the lower ratings..

The problem is 24 hour news networks have became mostly opinion pieces which fill up their time with dribble whether it be liberal or conservative. One Fox News pet peeve of mine is that it's commentators dumb themselves down to appear to relate to the average Joe, ex. Gretchen Carlson. Why would you want to get news and opinion from an idiot anyways? You also have Glenn Beck on Fox News who is just a fucking loon! But, it seems all news networks have a similar problem just Fox News is a bit over the top.

Because liberals genuinely do not want to hear the truth. How many stories has Fox broke and exposed and reported that have been true that the other liberal networks refuse to report?

OMFG Julie Banderas is amazing! :o
Most people who bash Fox News are Liberals (closet homos) who are mad at the conservative viewpoint because it is anti gay marriage.

Exactly, on a dutch tv show they showed this fragment of oreilly, everyone was laughing. i cant believe people wants to watch a channel with news that went through an extrem right wing filter. doesnt people want to hear the objective truth?
-
It's far easier to go through life with the knowledge that both sides are filled with stupid people and that almost everyone who disavows the major parties is of above-average intelligence (not that that's saying much, when you look at the groups we're being compared to).
-
“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” - Winston Churchill

Only a minority, while the rest seem to prefer 'infotainment' :-\
-
yeah thats it. they want to hear what they like to hear.

Hmm. Either you're trolling or you really are as stupid as your posts indicate. C'mon, Coach.

coach also wanted palin for president so that says enough.

I hate politics.

Please Chimps, if you're going to critisize and name call, at least back it up. Some of the stories that Fox broke that the others didn't until they had no choice....Rev Wright, all the appointees that didn't pay taxes including the head of our treasury, the "czar" that was an admitted communist, etc,etc,etc...want more?
-

Because Bush is on the staff at Fox.
-
I find both sides to be equally insidious.

*Sigh* You, again, miss the point, Coach. And I can match you point for point vis-a-vis Conservative bias. However, looking for 'truth' in the subjective world of 'news' reporting takes more than reacting viscerally to the latest item Rush or CNN has railed on. It means choosing your sources carefully - for example, I like The Economist for world news - and are they making attempts to present balanced views?, etc. Then you have to apply a critical eye to what is being said and reflect that through the prism of skepticism that you have polished over years and years of repeated scrutiny.
It's nice to hold political convictions close to your heart, but don't hold them so tightly that you squeeze all rationality out of them. ;)

Isn't the topic of this thread beyond the scope of an "on-call," gimmick such as yourself. I'm sure your time would be better served mocking the pathetic lives of pumpkinheads, and walking Sato, then trying to discuss politics, which I am sure that the "Wizard of Mediocrity," is far too busy to sully himself with.

It's really simple. It's the only major news outlet that will criticize and challenge Obama, Biden, Pelosi, Al Franken, Barney Frank and the rest. ABC, NBC, ABC; NY Times,CNN and any other major news outlet appear to cheer lead every move they make with a clear bias. If you get Fox news out of the picture there will be no other opposing view.

No. Fox pushes Rupert Murdoch's personal conservative views. Nothing more. It's as much a farce as any major news source. Scour the net for unbiased news sites instead.
