I watched a part of the broadcast and one thing I found rather surprising was that none of the NFL players - despite the millions they've earned - have contributed financially to developing the program in their home country.

I don't think they dominate, not at all. When you need big fat lineman, American Samoans are the way to go. Not particularly fast nor abnrmally strong ( big Fuckers are usually strong).

black players are the best because they are difficult to see in the night

has there ever been a black worlds strongest man winner?

Are you saying Ben White doesn't count? ;D
Blacks don't compete in WSM, but do often dominate in World's Biggest Man and World's Fastest Man competitions.

What the fuck is an American Somoan?
When I was in New Zealand the Māori's were all over the place, pretty much from the same line of people, big strong motherfuckers. Probably why NZ has one of the top Rugby teams in the world.
-
Cool story. I know Isaac Sopoaga does the Warrior dance before 49ers home games.

Most go to BYU, Cal, U$C, Cal Poly, Oregon, Oregon State. Man'te Te'o is a freak who plays for Norte Dame. 8)

Here's the thing. Most big people are strong in relation to those who are smaller. So it would make sense for a big strapping (and have a hard time getting ripped) dudes to be strong. But true strength is when you are doing double triple of even quadruple your bodyweight, to me that is.
Most of the Samoans that I've seen are big fat dudes who bench a lot of weight, but taken into context a 150 pound mand benching 350, is stronger than a 350 pound man benching 450.

alot go to COC college of the canyons

Of the MET-Rx contests? I don't think so.
However, that title was given to one Mark Henry, whom FLEX Magazine ranked as the 2nd Strongest Man of all time.
Henry has set world record in powerlifting and won the very first ASC Strongman competition in 2002, defeating a number of MET-Rx World Strongest Man competitors (which, I think, included a couple of MET-Rx World's Strongest Man winners).
Edit - Mark Henry did defeat an eventual MET-Rx World's Strongest Man Champion, 2006 winner Phil Pfister.

What kind of football are you watching Marty? Naked football?
They do wear uniforms...And at night there are the bright lights so it'd actually be harder to see you pigskins naked.

Yeah if mark henry concentrated on powerlifting instead of "wrastling" he could have been the greatest of all time but the money in WWE is too good.

Well, FLEX ranked him #2 all-time, so that's not too bad. Plus, WWE has been paying the rent/mortgage for over 15 years.

I think Ronnie Coleman could do well in WSM. I think he would love that, just lifting big objects with a big wide grin on his face. And introduce a new audience to his catchphrases.

Ronnie is strong for a bodybuilder but i don't think he has anything on the elite powerlifters.

It's been said by others that if he focused he could be one of them. Plus, there seems to be no ego gratification with Ronnie, he just loves lifting heavy ass weights. Like if you took that away from him, it's akin to taking a bottle away from a baby.

Wasn't Ronnie was once a powerlifter in the ADFPA?

Don't know.

Don't know.
I remember reading some blurbs in MuscleMag about Ronnie competing in powerlifting, during the early 90s, when he was working his way through the bodybuilding ranks.
If I have one of those articles in one of my old magazines in the garage, I will post it here.

My thoughts exactly!! The coach was complaining about their helmets, how old and outdated they were.....are you fucking kidding me? All these big shot NFL players can't donate some money at least for some decent helmets??? That was weird...other than that great segment!
-
Most somoans are high bodyfat. There dark skin makes them seem less fat also

I saw it too and thought the same thing.

Exactly, that mofo is strong. A fat Somoan (or any man) dude Who weighs as much as he's hoisting is not impressive. I've seen some Somaons in the gym benching 400+ and everybody is like, "he's strong", but dude is like 6'2 and 380. And is huffing and puffing up the stairs. That Chinese dude could run up and down the stairs all damn day, then go and lift a shit load of weight.
