And who puts people on the list?

Who can you appeal to?

More evidence of the communists in this WH.

yeah you are over-reacting

first I don't necessarily agree with what he's saying but this appears to have been said a long time ago and possibly before the "no fly" list became a fucked up joke that it is today.  Also, note the stupid, paranoid comments by whoever made this video.  Regardless of whether you agree with Emmanuel or not he's not calling gun owners terrorists.  He saying that perhaps people we might suspect of being terrorist should not be given legal access to guns (and as you argue they'll still get them anyway)

More importantly, let's look at present times.  Is anyone coming after your guns.  Is anyone on the no fly list prevented from owning guns.  Has this been brought up by Obama or Emanuel now?

Gun owners are a paranoid bunch. They seem to think that the only acceptable position is total access to guns by anyone and they seem to think that any restiriction is going to affect them

Shouldn't convicted felons and mental patients (real ones) also be given access to guns too.  Yes or No?

GMAFB Straw - how can you defend this?  Obviously it was AFTER the election and this is yet anpther indication of what the attitude of this WH is towards gun owners and the constitution.

No one argues for gun rights for felons or people with a history of mental illness.  That is a typical left wing idiot argument.

And BTW - look at the pro-choice movement if you want to see the same slippery slop arguments.

why shouldn't criminals have the right to defend their home and family.

what about white collar criminals who have no history of violence?

Because when you commit felonies you forfeit certain rights.

Well, he's got a point in some cases. I mean, after all, who'd want to put a gun into the hands of a toddler?

Seriously--the no-fly list is a crock, as are the cases against responsible gun ownership.

Felons dont have the same rights.

BTW Straw - why do urge me to support "rights" that are not listed in the constitution, yet you undermine and discount the importance of rights that are explicitly listed in the Bill of Rights?

Am I the only one who hates Rahm Emmanuel, but thinks this is all posing and no substance ( as has been typical of Obama and his cronies)? IMO this is just typical double talk horseshit.

Is anyone legitimately scared of someone on the no fly list owning a "legal gun" and killing people?

Smuggling a gun onto an airplane is pretty impossible these days, even in shitsack countries with bad security safeguards.

As history has shown time and time again, a criminal will find a way to get their hands on a gun, legal or not, and use it-- if they are determined to.

I am scared of people on the no fly list bringing explosives, biological weapons, box cutters-- etc. on an airplane. I could honestly give two flying fucks about individuals on the no fly list being able to "bare arms".

Brainwashed psychopaths hellbent on killing people ( Most Muslims for instance) will find a way to attempt their mission no matter what. Not being able to bare arms is like telling a drug addict they cant do drugs anymore otherwise they will go to jail, but they wont be drug tested.

Straw, a few questions:

1.   Who determines who goes on the "No-Fly List"

2.  What is the criteria?

3.  For how long?

4.  How do you get off it?

5.  As far as gun rights go - does this apply to long arms and handguns as well?

6.  Is there an appeals process to get off the no fly list?

7.  Why should we stop at the second amendment if you are ok with this and not apply it to the 1st amendment as well?
