I thought lamb always smelled horrendous, but yesterday I got some that had no smell...
What's the deal with that?

Lamb on a spit every april. Thats what we do in our family and it is the best meat. Tender, lean and if garnished right, amazing. Screw the smell. Its how it tastes that matters.

Lamb has to smell otherwise it's probably tasteless. Roasted lamb is fantastic.

I know what you mean. Lamb can be a little strong sometimes. Premium cuts are less gamey than cheaper cuts. Age, diet, lifestyle, meat aging, and cooking process probably impact as well. Rib loin chops in a good restaurant are never gamey, while a shoulder cut from the supermarket will knock you over backward.
I bought a 36 litre stockpot today and will be making beef demi glace this weekend. No hijack.

Slow cooking and heavy spices maybe? I never did much with cheaper lamb cuts. Might have a go sometime but got my plate full with your cuisine at the moment, froggy. ;)
There was a good Lebanese place near where I grew up and I always ordered their lamb.

yep, slow cooking and spices. Cooking is the only thing we have left here. Eating our way to oblivion.

Depends how it's seasoned and cooked, it can have a gamey taste.
It's the only thing I have in common with Muslims...I like lamb.
