Tonight on PBW Bob was explaining what a Publication/magazine deal is. Interesting explanation about how the mags are paying for so called exclusives but they really cant control what the other mags do. Jay is on the cover of practiaclly every bodybuilding magazine even though he had an exclusive contract with Flex. Sort of strange. Bodybuilding is the only sport that has these magazine limitation deals for the athletes/players. Discuss.

First off calling bodybuilding a sport is stretching it. But, the bodybuilding mags are a different situation because they are owned by the company that owns the bodybuilding federation everyone is a member of. Sports illustr.sated is not owned by any sports team as is any other major "real" sports magazine. Golf Digest is not owned by the PGA. Tennis Digest is not owned by the USTA. FLEX, M&F and whatever others are owned by AMI (formally the Weiders). Just another reason why BB is stupid to get in too.p

Not a sport, and very few would qualify as "athletes". Sorry, just the facts.

If bodybuilding is a sport, then so are female beauty pagaents. So, the Miss America Pagaent is a sporting event and the girls are athletes.

Damn, I didn't know putting on makeup is as hard as lifting weights.

The act of stepping onstage and posing is hardly a sport. But the preparation for the contest; lifting the weights, posing to tighten up, eating right, cardio etc...is more of a sport.

Parker--alot of those girls workout to get into shape for the contest, no different than your favorite BB'er training for a show. And as far as make-up goes---what do you think pro tan is?

Considering how aggressively and wrongly some chicks apply makeup I'd argue it must be harder and take more delusion than pro bodybuilding. Think about it...... fat, hispanic, ghetto chicks shave off their eyebrows, pencil in a surprised expression and convince themselves that shit looks smokin'.
