Can you believe this shit. People are actually making articles and coming up with all kinds of genetic bullshit just so the fat people can feel good about eating whenever and whatever they want. Done with the political correctness here. Your fat cause you eat a lot of food, plain and simple. Trying to say it's in your genetics to be fat etc etc, stop shoving those twinkies down your throat and start working out and eating good food and you will lose weight, not magic fatties.

we live in an era where accountability has been thrown by the wayside. A person that tries to stay fit, diet, workout is frowned upon. We are different. We are selfish and self centered, into ourselves..etc,etc...heard it all.
had a co worker last week tell me he doesn't know why he's not losing weight. (guys about 5'5 damn near 230+ gut is unreal prob 75% bf) Said he drinks protein shakes all day. I asked him what he ate for breakfast? How often do you cardio? All blank stares then said he doesn't eat breakfast and he doesn't cardio b/c of his "knee"
I later found out he pigged out on dominoes that night from another co worker b/c he ran his mouth to them about how dominoes changed their pizza.
it's a crying shame....but we are the azzholes for trying to stay fit. We judge. Sure whatever.

Years ago (maybe around 2004), someone here made a hilarious post about fatties, saying the best program for them is to make them go to a junkyard with a nice steak tied around their neck and a couple of vicious pitbulls let loose in the premises, and how the amount of stress and the running they'd do would make them drop weight FAST, if they did it a few times a week.
Still makes me grin to think about / picture it ;D

Our society (in teh U.S.A) has enabled the obese by way of technology.
Thanks to computers, GPS, elevators, escalators, television, TV changers, delivery boys, drive throught, cell phones, mass transit, 3 wheel Wal Mart fatty carts, etc.. the fatties can go day after day, month after month, year after year without ever physically exerting themselves. They can even pick up their scripts at a drive through pharmacy.
An intelligent, technologically advance country has destined the fatties to morbid fatness. Is that irony?

Exactly, it IS not that hard to stay in shape. People have asked me yrs past how was I able to work out and love it, and how can i be so disciplined. I tell them, nobody tells you when to wake up, when to brush your teeth, when to go to the bathroom, or when to go to work. This can actually happen. I know some overweight people who really eat very little some weeks, what happens is that they eat too little and not even work out, so their metabolisms slow down to snail's pace and whenever they go back and eat more again they end up putting weight again.

theres more problems associated with obesity than you might suspect and articles and studies like this reinforce that... its an extremely complex issue

lol nope doesnt happen. alot of "small eating" fatties, as previously mentioned in this thread, are "closet eaters". just because someone doesnt eat breakfast or lunch doesnt mean they arent eating once they are home at night. night eating is the number one cause of obesity. over eating in general, but the vast majority of fatties dont really over eat too much during the day...its at night time when they break out the pizzas, ice creams, sodas, potatoe chips.... and god forbid if a fatty ever bought a fat free ice cream or diet soda.. lmao..

I think the studies show the level of difficult one might have to lose weight, some gain weight easier, some gain muscle easier, some get leaner easier. But people interpret this as the Possiblity of getting lean, not the level of easiness/difficult to get lean. Not everybody can have perfect proportions, but nobody "has" to be in that box area known as being obese. Its true that they would still be the "bigger" ones in society when compared with the other people, but they don't have to be into the obese holy shit i need to lose weight now category

I love the thyroid excuse. Thyroid disorders are readily determined through simple blood tests and there are countless (dirt cheap) medications which resolve the thyroid issue completely. Next excuse......

Yes, you make good points there. I was just posting about the people that are a little overweight and literally starve themselves to lose weight with extreme diets; only to crash their metabolism so whenever they eat as they used to, they end up even "fatter".
I got a little confused and didn't get my post out correctly, but you are right overeating is what causes them to be overweight. A sedentary lifestyle contributes too.

Nope, I knew a woman, that I would out-eat, yet she ate very little, and didn't have that much in the pantry. But she was a big girl. She rarely did cardio, and her genes were that she was a "big" solid woman, we're talking 5'11 and thick. She did eat fast food, which is loaded with salt, but she never would eat on a consistent basis, due to money issues.
It is the combo of a slow metabolism, lack of cardio, and poor food choices. Not her portions. I have eaten out with many times and she can't finish her plate (seriously,it's Fish Fry Fridays, and you can't finish the plate---hand it over here!) so I eat her portions. In fact, I have gone to fast food joints for myself after that. So, in myself was showing her poor food choices. But I have always been a hardgainer, yet I could eat a hole out of a donut.

but she needed the calories to maintain that weight. Over the long period of time she had to eat enough calories to make her that heavy. How quickly she could burn these calories are up to genetics, not the possibility of whether or not calories could be burned.

It was rather quite interesting as it supports a lot of what bodybuilders are starting to realize........intermitt ent fasting is the best way to lean gains and muscle growth. I've been studying intermittent fasting for years now. That's basically what the article was saying and bodybuilders would be smart to take notice. There is a huge difference in not only what you eat but HOW you eat it. Meaning, as this article says, it's actually MORE healthy to eat infrequently and actually fast throughout the day. There is a lot of science backing this up as well. Bodybuilders have been indoctrinated to think they have to eat every 2 hours or they'll shrink. It's bullshit. As long as you are getting in the same amount of calories everyday overall the net metabolic effects are the exact same. But now science is uncovering that it might actually be more efficient for the body to eat infrequently, especially bodybuilders.
But this thread is a perfect example of why getbig is such a joke. There such morons on here with no interest in science or objective thinking. Just a bunch of teenagers looking to bitch, complain, make fun of others, talk big, look at porn. I'll go to other websites for real science and solid bodybuilding information. ::)

::) I'm calm dude. But my point still stands. That wasn't even the point of this article. Yes obese people are lazy and most are fat because they eat like shit and don't exercise. But there are also many other reasons why people are getting fatter and more unhealthy and it's not all so cut and dry. If you study the way Americans eat it's pretty interesting. Many cultures all over the world who are much healthier than us eat very differently. In this country we eat three huge meals a day. Some cultures eat only two with a very small breakfast. America's obesity problem is not just a lack of will power. Not taking the fatties side here.......but it's an interesting topic.

This chick is always starving, and I mean, sometimes she doesn't eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, sometimes not eating at all the whole day. As I said, money issues come into play, so bad decisions on food choices---fast food. And she can cook too, very well. Over the yrs I have seen her progressively get bigger from a "thick gal" to a "big gal". I think, sodium has a alot to so with it, also soda as well as her lack of consistent eating habits, as well as lack of cardio. Her genes call for her to be big, her father was 6'4 and Shaq like. When I met her she was "solid" like a freakin Oak desk. I have people like that in my family.
We used to go running (I would run, she would walk) on a track a few yrs ago. She couldn't understand why I could run rings around her. I told her that I was carrying A LOT less weight than her.
after that ,I'd go eat some chicken breasts, broccoli, a few bake potatoes, and she'd eat a salad. And some tuna. I then would eat a tuna fish sandwich, then eggsalad sandwich, etc, etc. sometimes a whole frakin pizza. Meanwhile, all she had was that salad. Did she go pig out afterwards, no I doubt it, because her pantry was bare. If she had kids, they would have starved.
I would consistently outeat her. It's not even funny, like I was a fat man in skinny person's body.

no, portions are always the issue. not food choices. nobody is going to get fat on 2000 calories a day, no matter what food they are eating. anyone who is fat- overeats. no ifs and or buts. 2+2=4 fat= overetaing

So what happened to you?
Well, I got the short end of the stick. My mom is 5'3 and was skinny, my dad 6'0 and athletic and big. By 8th grade I barely weighed 90 pounds.
Tbombz, I kid you not, I KNOW this chick, she doesn't really have money too overeat. When someone asks you to bring a plate over or buy something for them because they have no money, that shows that they are broke. But yes, at times she does gets fast food, it's those damn value meals and shit. The salt on the fries, the carve of the fries, soda, and the protein of the sandwhiches, that's what does her in.
I have tried to get her to cook or prepare her dinners, lunches, breakfast and go shopping and buy her foods, but that is another story. Plus, if she stepped up in the cardio dept, she make improvements. But she must want to do this.

This lady i work with eats Ramen noodles and pork rinds for lunch everyday and weighs at least 280. She complains all the time about being broke and how she can barely afford rent. I asked her when the last time she went for a walk around the block was and she said "never". She is 38 and has never done any exercise in her lifetime. But get this, she brings in a fucking giant sized german chocolate cake every other monday that she makes at home. Nobody will ever know what this lady eats every night and if she is stuffing herself with cake and icecream every night before she goes to sleep then how would we know? Just because a lady is broke doesn't mean she doesn't hide her bad habits from people. just like a drug addict can hide an addiction from people for 10 years and constantly complain about being broke, we just don't know the truth.

yeah and they can get thyroid meds for that if they are motivated enough to go to the doctor. Also even with the thyroid problems, if you eat little enough you will still be regular weight, just another excuse to be fat, go to the doctor fatty! I think some like being fat.

dude, unless your with her 24/7 then you can't be saying this stuff like it is fact. Most fatties eat when other people arn't around, and some eat small like you said she does in restaurants. It isn't rocket science, if she eats only a little a day, her fatass she lugs around will burn that off fast, because of the extra weight she has to carry. She IS eating more then you think.
Just like a bodybuilder telling you all I take is this supplements and take my vitamins, and as a kid you always were like damn why can't I get that huge, well you didn't know he was also injecting steroids which he forgot to mention.
Fatties do the same, tell you well I eat just this little bit, and I am fat I don't know what is happening!! There little secret is the food they eat they don't tell you about, you don't get fat by eating just a little food, what bullshit people believe LOL.

I used to work with her before she got fat and after. We had dated before she blew up as well. So, I know what she ate at work, and what she ate at home. Cause, I was cooking as well. But I do agree with what you are saying. Since and and I don't work together, nor see each other only talk every so often, she probably is gorging off of fast food and whatnot.
