Title: delusional state of powerlifters
Post by: Marty Champions on February 02, 2010, 06:33:57 AM
i normally dont start negative threads like this, and regret any negative implications or possible trickle down effects, but i dont see any real purpose to juice up only to look uglier and to lift heavy weights. such as that bench press competition where its seems only a bunch of juice heads with NO HOT CHICKS just a bunch of artificiall ego inflaters  :(

i simply fail to see there motivation, as anytime u get big in numbers its inevitable that u rip a pec muscle and only attain more facial bloat or loss of hair

You actually have a point DW.

In my 7 years of judging powerlifting events i only saw a handful of hot chicks show up to the events.

Some men like to juice up and move heavy objects, but not all of them are ugly gorillas, see Jon Pall Sigmarsson.

I have to admit,Falcon is starting some good threads lately
On his thoughts of powerlifters I agree with him
but then again, many normal humans might think its weird to juice up to be muscular like I do

They challenge themselves with different kind of goals than you do, Johnny. It's all about getting better, no matter what.

Very true.  People have different goals.  Such as Goodrums is to take last place in every contest he enters but rub as much oil on guys in thongs backstage as he can while achieving that goal.  Falcon's goal is to put a coherent sentence together while awake

How directly one's goals correlate to "looking good" varies from person to person. Some people choose (or in some cases have no choice but to) distinguish themselves in other ways. Of course, still others maintain ideas of what looks good that don't at all square with what the majority of the population thinks, so they could in some sense be considered delusional.

Ha, maybe his whole motivation IS to rub his special blend of bee pollen and oil all over another man's body.

"Hold up, I missed your glutes.  Jezus! What do you do for your tie-ins?"

And then there are those who take steroids that have nothing to show for it, save for the loss of hair and testicles.

I think that people who use anabolic steroids together with taking lifting to that extreme is not really happy, and/or are not fully aware of what they are doing to themselves.

Arnold seemed to know what he was doing but. He should have become an athlete instead. I think he had natural strength and flexibilities for sports. He cold been a great sprinter or football player maybe?

why assume that powerlifters choose to lift to attract women? Most powerlifters just legitimately enjoy lifting heavy weights in a competitive surrounding. Think about it, for those that love to compete... after HS or college there just arent that many options as far as a competitive outlet is concerned. You may not understand it just as they most def dont understand the way you live either
