Yeah, sometimes but the $$$ are used to buy me meat, meat & more meat.  Got to have my protein.  Did I mention that he has extreme culinary talent too? ;)

Drummers and singers are guys who like to hang out with musicians.

How many guitar players does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

10

1 to screw in the light bulb and 9 to stand there with arms folded saying "I can do better than that".

Actually, the bassist is B's son.  He lives with us here in Florida, is engaged to a beautiful girl & is far from homeless.  Btw, the joke is kind of lame. ::)

Radio = pure garbage

If popularity of music were in direct relation to talent then classical, fusion, jazz, prog, blues etc would be the most popular forms of music, and not the garbage that proliferates the airwaves today. When a truly talented artist's music becomes mainstream, it's usually due to the fact they have 'dumbed down' their music to 'reach a larger audience.'

If you want to find good music you need to search the net, hit your local scene or perhaps satellite radio.

99.9% of pop culture, not merely music but fashion, tech-toys, television, movies, is unadulterated tripe pandering to the sub 100 iq crowd to keep the masses spending and intellectually ignorant.

Radio....hahahahahahahah aahaha

???

Your point being?

It's typical Prog Metal and stands up to some of the current crop of Prog bands. It's not the greatest sounding recording but that's to be expected when budget is taken into account.

dear stupid:

she said her little band is 'kicking ass'.

to me and to most others this denotes success of a nature. financial being the first to come to mind.

radio + popularity = $

$ = kicking ass.

who cares if their music is great but they are broke.

america loves its success stories and all success stories revolve around making money.

hope this helps.

Success is relative, as is 'kicking ass'. 'Kicking ass' could mean playing a 1000 seat venue as opposed to a small 100 seat club. This type of music is not meant to pander to the ignorant masses, yourself included. Success for this genre would best be measured against it's peers. If half-wits like yourself measure the success of one's art by how much money they make then they are truly missing the point of being an artist in the first place. Which is, the compulsion to create meaningful art, regardless of medium and audience.

America loving it's success stories revolving around making money is exactly why it's is the financial mess it's in today, but I digress.

Dunno.

But, I did score many more chicks when I was a dirt poor musician traveling on the road than I do now since I have settled into the tech field. That's obviously due to the nature of the biz though. Nor were those long term relationships. That is, unless 40 min is considered long term.  ;)

Sorry kid, only an idiot gets into the music biz expecting to make money off of it. You're better off investing lottery tickets as it's a greater return on your investment. You play music because you love playing music, not for cash, unless you're delusional of course.

Are you fucking retarded or something newbie? I wouldn't get into the music biz.

But if you're getting into it for pure artistic reasons you'll be a starving artist and better keep your walmart position...at some point you gotta pay the bills, you'd know that if mom ever kicked you out of her basement.

Finally! Someone's bringing some sense into this thread.

Well, those Marshalls that Spinal Tap used, were a copy of the Fender Bassman in the late 50's. And all late 50's tweed Fender amps all went to 12! Eat your heart out Spinal Tap! :p

Another musician joke:

What's the difference between a musician and a large pizza? The pizza can feed a family of four.

Bonus Joke:

What's the difference between stocks & bonds and a musician? Stocks and bonds make money and mature.

For 99.99% of musicians it's a hobby and nothing more, and they have other sources of income.

and better keep your walmart position
Seriously kid, you come off as a complete idiot.

...at some point you gotta pay the bills,
See above.

you'd know that if mom ever kicked you out of her basement.
With nothing of value to say you resort to meaningless inflammatory comments.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news again...but I don't think you understand the term 'label' a 15 year old can start his own music 'label' it's basically a corporation, you register it with the business bureau...

when I talk to musicians regarding labels there are only 5 or 6 **REAL** legit labels in existence,

again when I say label, I mean a RECORD label that has a 20-40 bands on it's roster, can afford to press 500,000 copies of an album, pay for art work, distribution, royalties, etc.

So, to recap:  REAL label = sony, BMG, EMI, Warner, Atlantic, Columbia

bullshit label run out of guy's closet = F n A records (whatever the hell that is)

Signing with a **REAL** major label basically gives you the right (label pays) to record 2-3 albums and you get an advance of aprox. $100,000 per member of the band, sometimes more sometimes less.

just a FYI.

How would you like to earn some COLD HARD CASH, FREE CD’s, and your name in some of our future releases???

It’s easy….FnA Records is always looking to sign Hard Rock/Metal/AOR/GLAM artists from the 80’s and 90’s regardless of if they were ever signed or not.  Were you in a band in the 80’s/90’s?  Do you know someone who was in a local band during that time period?  Hook us up with their contact info. and if the artist signs with us.......
FnA Records will give you A&R credit in the CD booklet, give you free CD’s, Free SWAG, and COLD HARD CASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh brother  ::)

and they have this page

SOME OF THE RAREST METAL & COLLECTIBLES AROUND-------which is completely blank

looks like a real industry leader here

QFT  Jade sounds like a fool who can't keep her cock in her pants. This band won't go anywhere. Typical white trash idiots with some slut who will fuck anything that moves. Jade is just gross and naive. She can't make a real living so she tries to mooch off whoever she can. The only label this band will sign is playing one night a week at the local dive bar.
