"Evan Centopani will sit out 2010!
Evan in conversation on MD Radio #48 February 8th, announced he will "Sit out" the 2010 Bodybuilding Season planning on returing for the 2011 Arnold Classic!"
Maybe his mom didnt let him compete?

hahaha!
but guys remember he will still be getting paid by universal
will we one day have a bodybuilder who's professional competition record will transcend that of the dominate force that was Dorian Yates?

yes, its pretty sad.
Hes a kid and hes too scared to compete against Kai, Dex, Jay and so many other veterans.
productive offseason? no, he likes eating and he likes being fat. assuming from his past.
-
Maybe he got tired of beating off for Uncle Steve.

Wow, I hope it's not a health issue. Very unusual move.

Taking time of is the best thing u can do if u want to make some progress...

Who deleted my post? I made a post, but it only has my quote.
Anyway I said that Dorian did Gran Prix events after he won the Mr. O, and he well before he won the title.
It seems like Evan was going to do the Phoenix Pro, but after Wolf, Anthony, Freeman said they were going to do it, he bows out, doesn't seem too "Animal" to me.
Universal needs to bring back Frank McGrath or "House", at least his teeth look like a "animal" and his calves are, well, as big as calves. He needs more exposure.
Maybe Universal can use Evan in a "Cowardly Lion" ad. Something like,
"I know I can't beat them, but I have to try. Try my best"
-Animalpak, we know you can't beat them, convince yourself you can.
-
scared? dont think so. this guy is doing a shawn ray w/o the olympias and his sponsor is fronting the money. after seeing his vids he is definitely from a well to do family, still lives with folks and is probably putting his sponsor money to good use. i can see getting paid as a pro and never making to the O but showing up one with assets like Rhino. he's playing bbing for what it is worth vs other way around.
he's very good at cooking channel type vids for sure.
knows his fresh food n virgin olive oil

Evan is on of these newcomers who thinks by taking a "year off" and steps on the Olympia for the 1st time, he will become Mr. Olympia. ::)
for exampple wolf, heath etc.
look at Jays competitive record before becoming Mr Olympia, look at Dex's, look at Ronnies...

He also likes to do the guest poser thing for G4P audiences. If he doesn't produce Universal might drop him. Yeah, he know his shit about food, because he he used to be a fat dude who loved to eat more than Superhead loves to suck cock.
Thing is, he was going to do the Phoenix Pro, then backed out when other high profile competitors said that they were going to do it. He won the NYC pro with a weak field, and he looked super flat.
He may be able to put his money away and play the game, but the game as a competitive bodybuilder is to compete.
Shawn Ray got his toes wet and won the Arnold Classic twice, the first time he was DQ'd, plus he won the Ironman, he did well at a other Arnold Classics, but he wasn't afraid to go against the boys at the Mr. O, and he had a better caliber of physique than Evan.
Evan took what, 18 months off since winning his pro card, then competed. Then doesn't compete in the Mr. O, then says he's going to compete in the Phoenix Pro, now says he's gonna tak a year off. Sounds kinda suspect to me. Pass that extra virgin olive oil, would ya.

ok parker...he won his 1st. so...how long does his sponsor give him to do another show? you have to look at today's comp vs shawn's era. there aint s##t out there to pick up if universal dropped him. they'll keep him. he does one easy show in 11 and wins it. maybe he does the O. look how long king kamali kept a check coming.

seriously he needs his own show on the cooking channel.
-
Evan doesn't like to compete. I guess the guy wants to live with his parents forever and eat copious amounts of food? He's not very business savvy, that's for sure.
-
Evan looks better in off-season (guest-posing) shape than he does in contest shape. His chest always seems to cave in when diets down. ???

i'm sure people where saying the same thing about rhino...calling him a dumb s@@t bbing until he did that vid with flex wheeler.

Good point about Kamali. Probably becaus of his big mouth, not his physique is what kept traffic coming to Muscletech, but they knew they could only ride a beat horse for so long.
And now in this era where you have the Phil Heaths, Kai Greens, Zack Khans, Wolfs, Toney Freemans, JOJs, Foaods (sp), you have a ton of dudes who are bringing it. Even Brian Curry, who I might add is competing finally this year.
I guess it's a wait and see to see if Evan's plan actually works.
-
-
so he's taking two years off between shows if he waits until next year to compete.
dude is a lazy fckin chicken. one year is understandable to a point, two years is a joke
at least this gives him more time to stalk women over the internets
-
Thats why i think the IFBB should make a new rule in which, if someone doesnt compete for more than a year straight, his ifbb pro card should be taken away and he must earn it again.

Come to think of it, by June, the 2011 model cars will start to come out.

phil - gone
kai - gone
khan - big care bear looking mofo will never get in shape to win a show like people think he is. another ruhl
toney - old n not ronnie marketable
joj - downhill
etc.
universal got a good looking young white guy who can win lower shows and could probably place top 3 in top shows outside of A and O. and if he aint smart he sounds smart and knowledgeable in all his vids vs the other pros. why would universal get rid of him even if he sits 18 mths at a time. he has the animal group thing going, etc.
the only other guy i see out there is ed nunn. if he come up with a ronnie formula watch out with his shape, small waist and size. he is that out of no where type of guy n as country and hard working as ronnie
universal needs to market evan's smarts a bit. that's the only problem i see.

Ed Nunn, forgot him, then there is Mark Alvisi, and Cedric McMillian, which MD is gonna play up his Army Man thing.
AnimalPak tends to go for guys who aren't right there yet, like Frank McGrath and Fankhouser, and now Evan, it's like they can't afford the real big names, whether they be ones hat just got their pro card or not.
Tell me, why do you think Phil and Kai are out? Phil, needs to stop asking for permission and do the damn thing, Kai, well he's gonna improve even more, he's a freak, not in Ronnie's league, but a poor man's version of Ronnie.

I'm talking value for sponsors dollars. how much would it cost universal to sign one of them (phil, kai, dex or vic) vs the big supp companies? evan is no brewer. universal is getting ok value for their money. maybe he should have done a show in 10. if not...then work on marketing with him. the pro seen is weak. there arent those brand name guys during shawns era such as MMM, Flex, Cormier Drugs and Caucasian w####s, etc.

Got you, after I type it, I figured that what you meant. I do agree that the pro scene is week compare to the mid-late 90s, but I think the new guys are bringing back quality, very slowly.

taking time off from what? taking time off? ;D

Which one are you talking about? :P
ahh..the one in the middle... ;D

Who ???

evan loves his cheeseburgers.
Man, i tell you i would be soooo happy is Universal would have dropped him after that, i would like to see the expression from his fat face.
Evan is a great bb he SHOULD compete and not crawl.
-
Has any 1st year "pro" taken a year off then come back and cleaned house? Don't think so. This is the death knell of his "career."
-
hahaha!

will we one day have a bodybuilder who's professional competition record will transcend that of the dominate force that was Dorian Yates?
never. 15 of 17 = 1st place. the other 2 were 2nd place. never will happen again. champion straight out the box.

???
1 yr or so off and won ny pro which is probably the best of the sub-O n A contest. takes another yr off, now, and will probably hand pick another sub-A n O show and win. now...does he do the A first in 11? he stands a better chance of placing top6 than the O in 12. looks like a good plan to me. in about 4 yrs he has 2 pro wins and top 6 at A. you got guys killing themselves on cycles forever losing internal bodyparts n cant win a show in 10 yrs. he gets to do the cooking show on youtube, get paid, stay fat and off of drugs most of the time. looks like a shawn ray pro game plan to me. where is lee priest since he use to complain bout shawn only doing one show a yr? sorry lee...u should have planned better that's why u have to make a comeback.
fools over at universal. need to start some kind of food channel with this guy. he'd be a star on the food network. screw bbing.

Evan Centopani announces hes taking a year off.
Are you sure? cause CNN MSNBC ABC CBC AND FOX didnt say a word about it yet.

Horrible decision

Check ESPNews...been all over that channel...
-
um, no.
A year of high doses of test + slin + GH, heavy off-season training, and gluttonous eating should go a long of way towards turning Evan into a freaky mass monster, which is the IFBB's preferred physique. :P

First, evan is ALWAYS on a ton of shit, and will always be on a ton if shit even if he takes that year off. Second, as for getting paid...that's the biggest laugh in this thread...what Universal is paying him is not even enough to keep in him anadrol for 6 months...
