Where is the best place to buy this stuff?

You live on the border right?
Couldn't you find some over in Nuevo Laredo for cheaper?

Horse stall mats from a farm/tractor supply are the choice in powerlifting and olympic lifting gyms. It's cheap, wears well, and is thick 3/4". The bad part is that the recycled rubber smell takes a few days to air off. Not bad. if in a basement or garage.
All the sporting goods stuff is pretty similar, just wait for a sale around the next major holiday.

thanks, but its going in to an extra bed room that going to get converted into a small home gym.

A few people who post on here need to be placed in a padded wall room, not just the floor. Anyway might try Home Depot, believe they have inter locking rubber floor mats. Mostly used for home/garage workshops. But should work for your gym.
Yeah, not too many go over the border any more. At lease around TJ, Tecate or Mexicali. Bad times. Only highschool kids on the weekends (stupid stuff really), lifters and tourist from back east.

when I had my home gym, I actually purchased these from a gym in boston on ebay. these things cost a ton retail, so if you can get them semi used you can get a great bargain. be warned though, they are a fucking bitch to roll up and carry unless you are exceptionally tall... real pain in the ass on flights of stairs and narrow corridors.
