This is a stupid comment and can be answered by considering conservation of energy. As you're exercising you need energy. Where do you think this energy comes from? You think it magically travels back in time from 20 minutes after your cardio session?

well, i think the theory comes from the fact that your metabolism is still running pretty high after you do your cardio. its not like your body just goes from full tilt to baseline the instant your step of the treadmill or whatever. i guess, in theory, you might not burn as much body fat if you eat right away, but you might end up burning muscle if you don't eat. I say listen to the body (if its telling you to eat, then eat), eat a small amount of lean protein and low glycemic index carbs, and don't gorge.

Wouldn't it make more sense to eat while the metabolism is running at a higher rate, especially if you're going for fat loss?
I'm no expert, but it just seems that if you're looking to lose fat, eating while it's most likely to be used to replenish what you've just burned makes more sense than waiting.....?

What's best to have after cardio?
Protein with a bit of low-glycaemic carbs, or protein with high glycaemic carbs?
