why'd he finish so low?
what is happening with that guy?
Should he concentrate on powerlifitng only?
-
see Ron I have tried to make bodybuilding threads of interest to me and zero replies
I make random trash threads and get 50 pages.
-
johnnie jackson doesnt have the structure needed to compete in the IFBB
he's muscles are big and full and he's great at lifting waits but simply too stocky
plus he's never really quit grainy enough on contest day
-
He has the structure, just not the condition and never has legs.

Works everytime.

Yea, I'd say it's just his condition that's really been lacking and holding him back

He was only competing to "qualify" for the mr O liftoff.. So has to do One comp to qualify and now hes done it, =)
I would assume thats the case.

Bro, when was the last time you saw JoJ dialed in like that? Not since that show probably...

Johnnie looks awesome there; better than i've ever seen him look I think and that was years ago
-
Looked his best in 01 nationals like many do before turning pro, tried to play the size game, should have worked on conditioning and stayed at a lower bodyweight.

Wonder why he can't duplicate that conditioning

looks a lot ebtter than melvin the arrogant shitface anthony

Hard to say, I'm no expert, but age?? The amount of drugs/Gh insulin, high dosages ingested over the years took a toll on the body? Same with a lot of pros before they were pros, looked thier best when amat. and when they turned pro, upped everything and played the size game and completely fucked up thier physique.
Johnnie had a very good physique that had the potential to do a lot of damage on the pro stage.

I mean the guy has top sponsors, lots of fan support, could hire the best trainers ie Hany, George etc. Yet this guy seems to just either not put 100% into his diet prep, or he just doesn't care anymore. I mean why after this many years of competing as a pro can he not get in shape?. IMO time for JJ to retire, maybe focus on powerlifiting, or try and do some strong man shows.

Probably doesn't care, like I said in the other thread he a long with many pros tried to play the size game and screwed up his physique. Looked his best at the nationals in 01, but that was it. Needed to work on his conditioning more cause he is not a tall person, plus his structure isn't made to carry the weight he is packing on. I say about 210 or 218 he would look really good. Like a Flex Wheeler he looks good at a lower bodyweight.

He also might be using this as a trial run and is still dieting for the Arnold. Flex used to do this with the Ironman, and used it as a gauge for the Arnold.

Yeah, but Flex could get away with that, and still win. Its not like JJ is winning contests left-and-right. He really shouldn't consider any competition a trial run.

didn't someone else start this EXACT same thread?

oh ya that was me

I'm gonna guess and say he still can't go to the gym and not have to try to out lift everybody watching...

Lol, that's probably the case. I still think he has the best, fullest pecs in bbing today.
-
maybe his conditioning could be better, or is there something in his personal history that is preventing him from winning...
-

Parker, wait a second -- that's unheard of! Bodybuilders don't do that. :D

He has the makings of a champ. He's kinda like the Chris Cormier of today...except Chris actually won contests...and beat Flex at the 2000 Ironman.
Flexb, yeah, it was one of the smartest things Flex did. Come in full for the Arnold, use your shape to beat them, then come in diced for the Arnold and a big payday.

You mean Ironman :)
-
His quads are terrible and his calves...
...does he even have any? ???
-
Looks like age is hitting him a bit.
Time waits for no man!

It looks as if age is particularly hitting his LEGS.

dude's a powerlifter, been a bodybuilder forever, and drinks a lot of sprite.
That kind of combination is deadly on the knee joints.

You are right, but damn was he on in that pic! Got potential written all over it!

Chris should have won the Arnold the next week too. But Flex came back and got the win based on his name...or at least that's how I remember it.
Then Flex was pissed off at Chris because Chris was voicing his opinion that Flex shouldn't have won.

Chris was cutting Flex up in some articles, or I should say talking about some of Flex' body parts chris felt were "inferior." It came off as bitterness towards Flex for winning
