a Statefull firewall is your best antivirus....i use this http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=cisco+asa&cid=5442477046110415416&sa=title#p   but ya basically got to be an engineer to set it up....however...jackshit does not get in OR OUT of my network (i actually specifically allow getbig into my network...and certain people from here..otherwise..NOTHING gets in or out...this is only for the putter connected to my lab)

an easier one to set up

http://www.google.com/products?q=pix+firewall+&hl=en&aq=f

if you dont wanna buy a PIX and learn how to configure one...

go to www.zonealarm.com   they have a good free firewall or used to (and also one u can buy)

What do you think of iyogi. I have subscribed to them for the past couple of years and they have saved me a ton of money on tech support. Also do you suggest always having your firewall activated?

Thanks for the link.

i dont know anything about iyogi my friend. I personally have a dedicated box (firewall) andeverytime i turn my equiptment on it turns on along with. difference between these software firewalls (iyogi...i checked out the site right now)and hardware firewalls (like mine) is that hardware is faster....mine is industrial strength so to say...

anyhow you should ALWAYS have your firewall activated. kinda like a home alarm system...no use getting it unless its ALWAYS working. What if u get robbed while u turn it off?
